I did not sleep well. My left forefinger swelled up to the point where it felt like it was going to pop any time. Apparently she hit a vein when she bit down ... poor girl!
Mippies were highly upset with me, when I didn't let them out this morning. Myself, I'm completely out of sorts. Both of my hands are painful, the left hand being the worst.
I don't know if you can see just how swollen that one finger is. No wrinkles, ha ha! I can't bend it at all. And it is throbbing ...
Well, I went to the vet to settle the bill - which was really not bad. Especially considering he worked after hours! I asked him about the babies and he reckons it's not really necessary to trap and test them - better to keep an eye and see if there are any signs of sickness. For the mommy, it came on quite suddenly ... and strongly. He reckons it was there all along, just flared up recently.
Frankly, I can't really afford to spend money on out-of-budget items like vet bills, and I also really shouldn't take any more time off work for cats ... so, I've cancelled the traps.
Late last night I remembered that I had planned to make the other chuck roast today, and I took it out of the freezer. As well as the pet mince.
I'm a bit handicapped with my hands today ... on a positive note, though, Lady Sybill is a very happy kitty! Yesterday afternoon she ventured into the lounge ... took a few steps outside, then turned around and dashed back into her room! She clearly prefers indoor life with me!
She is really incredibly gentle! No rough play, no claws - ever. And she comes whenever she hears me! And she loves tummy tickles!
I've put the laundry in the machine, and I've brewed another pot of coffee ... it's ten to eleven. Load shedding from twelve to two ...
I don't think I mentioned that, after announcing Stage 4 first to start at four yesterday afternoon, it was then implemented suddenly at 13:11 - and late last night they announced we'll be at Stage 4 'until further notice'. And so it begins ... the next decline ... well, back to reality, rather than an next decline. The lower stages - as I suspected - were purely political window dressing ...
I think I see the first mushrooms growing! Nice, if I'm right!
Quite a few of the wounds on my hands are infected, so I spent some time picking them open and cleaning them out. Painful, but necessary. And some of them are less painful now. My left forefinger is still pretty swollen, though.
Lady Sybill has settled on my bed and spent the entire afternoon on it. She's still there! Mini actually joined us for a while - when I was taking a nap. At a distance and with me between her and Sybill ... but it's promising!
Yeah, I'm not feeling very well, understandably. So I took rather a long nap. Load shedding didn't happen - again.
Ziva gave me some trouble tonight - she stayed out, letting me look for her. She'd gone for a stroll at the time ... silly girl!
Well, I should sleep better tonight ...
