I've got a serious problem now, don't I? I'm talking about my landlord. I've been thinking about solving this latest problem, under the misapprehension that he's a reasonable man. But he isn't is he? He was, when I first moved in. But over the past 16 months his behaviour has deteriorated to the point where he is simply a bully! Refusing his responsibilities - like the waste removal - and going as far as to forbid me to bath!
I did notice, that he's been quiet while the alcohol ban was in place. And now, as soon as he's got his beers (or whatever he drinks) again, he's getting even worse.
I've thought there should be some way to push back and set boundaries - after all, his actions are illegal - but then I thought about everyone else in his life. No neighbour has ever popped in for tea - as a matter of fact, it must be a neighbour who's disappeared his dogs! He hasn't learned anything from that! He abused his worker to such an extent, that he quit his job at THIS time! He used to scream at him for talking to me! Even when I initiated talking to his worker - he's abuse him for that!
And from what they've told me about their children, mostly what they disapprove of ... and they barely ever visit!
And his issue with my washing machine is utterly irrational. He keeps shouting at me to 'do something about it'. He brought that up yesterday again, as well. His 'issue' is, that the machine draws water, then checks whether its enough, then draws more water, checks again, etc. until it has just enough water for the load currently in the machine. So that, when I have a smaller load, it uses less water. It's an automatic process, and THAT is what he wants me to 'do something about'!
Sadly, the fact that the law is on my side, doesn't matter. There is clearly no rational approach to solve this amicably. Which leaves me no alternative but to move. Again! Sigh. However, this time, I choose the deadline! So I can look around for a place with no rush - which is a good thing, since I'm financially NOT in a position to move ... yikes, not this year! And that means that I'll have to adhere to whatever insanity is imposed on me until then ... Man, this sucks!
His real problem, from what he blabbered yesterday, isn't actually the water consumption - I mean, I knew THAT! He has no data on actual water usage - and then, of course, his complaint about my water-conservative washing machine. His real problem is his pump! THAT isn't built for on-off use. Which means the simplest solution would be for him to lift his tank! THAT would also solve the no-electricity=no-water problem!
I repeat: I've got a serious problem now, don't I?
So what do I do in the meantime? If I shower and it's decided to take too long ... risk having my water cut off mid-shower? Well, tonight, I've unpacked my foot spa and warmed up with a lovely foot massage! Tomorrow, I'll have to drive to work to collect my deliveries - and I'll bet my landlord will take advantage and enter my flat again. Sigh ...
No, I've not had a good day today. Seriously, as if this lock-down isn't stress enough!
