I slept quite well and got up fairly early. These days, anything before 7 qualifies as 'fairly early'.
Social media is abuzz with the implications on the ruling on the Lock-down regulations! News media are jumping on the bandwagon, publishing article after article on opinions, implications and even some facts. Personally, I don't understand why the ban on the sale of tobacco products is not affected by this ruling ...
I also don't understand how there could be any valid grounds to delay the tobacco court cases.
"According to Wasserman, co-operative governance & traditional affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma should be given additional time to provide a record of the government’s decision to uphold the cigarette ban under level 3 through Regulation 45."
The record of the government's decision should be on file - as soon as that decision was made, right? Which, to my simple mind, clearly stats that documents need to be created - and that, again to my simple mind, is forgery. Right?
I think, NDZ actually believes that her ban is inspiring smokers to quit - and that, the longer she can postpone lifting the ban, the more 'smokers she can save'! The truth, however, is quite the opposite. Smokers are also turning to dagga and other drugs. Furthermore, the ban is affecting the well-being of not ONLY smokers, but their families as well! Geez, that's plain and simple common sense!
I'm just sick and tired of this ban on the sale of cigarettes! Sick and tired! The court ruled the regulations were unconstitutional - why are they kept in place? When a prisoner is found 'falsely convicted', he is set free - why does the same not apply to an entire nation?
Some happy news: My Yuppiechef order is on the way, as well! That means only the cat sachets are not on the way, yet. Funny, because a) it's the most urgent for me and b) it's usually available at all times. Ah, well, mippies aren't going hungry and they are getting treats - just fewer.
But I'm very excited about my Yuppiechef order! That's my coffee maker! And the coffee is also on the way, from FTN! I have to confess that I've been dreaming of a lovely aromatic cup of fresh filtered coffee every morning since I placed the order! Hopefully it's delivered tomorrow morning!
I'm not in the mood for the kitchen today, I'm baking 2 loaves of bread for At, and 2 rolls for myself, all with the same dough. I've kept it simple this time, used an oil I had used before and not added the rosemary & olive spice - who knows, maybe it's the Grapeseed oil or the spice that caused my breads to brick?
I think I eliminated the cause: It wasn't the flour, but the Grapeseed oil! These two loaves are nice and fluffy! See why I'm not the best at baking?
I'm now giving mippies only the time it takes me to smoke one cigarette, to come home and inside. I no longer wait for the last one - I've decided they must now learn to come, or miss out on treats! I'm at their beck and call most of the day now, so they can be at mine in the evenings. I also want to keep that up, when I'm back at work, so that I can rather spend more time WITH them, once they are in, than sitting outside while they run around - like I used to. I'd rather spend the time while they're running around, doing what I need to get done - and then we can enjoy the indoor evening together.
My landlord got themselves new dogs today - big ones. Though I think they are still young. Mippies have ALL slept inside most of the day, ha ha ha! They are definitely NOT impressed!
I took a shower mid-day ... and now I'm debating whether I should have a bath anyway. Just for the pleasure of it. No, I'm not exactly cold or freezing - but I do enjoy a nice hot bath. Even though I don't spend much time in it!
And then, being the weirdo that I am, I decided to bake a tray of cookies, after all! Having resisted the need, and decided not to - but ... well ... then I ate so many ...
For my own dinner, I fired a steak. Janey came for a sniff at a piece I had cut for her, but didn't take it. Mewthos eagerly awaited his share - he took only two or three pieces, then settle for a wash on the bed. Mini no longer comes to me, but stands somewhere in the background, hopeful - so I throw her pieces. Ziva wasn't home yet, so she missed out. She did, however, come with hope in her eyes, when I was rolling the cookies! Then left, disappointed, after a sniff. Mewthos also demanded whatever I was making - even went so far as to jump onto the table! He didn't believe that what I had let him sniff, was really what was going on on the table! He got his ear flicked!
Mini still licks Nivea off my face. And I still don't know whether she thinks it needs washing off, or tastes nice!
Well, I'm ready for tomorrow ...
