Lock-down Day 67

I had the weirdest dream this morning. I was out and about with my mippies and we were missing a mip, a young male, only I couldn't remember his name for the life of me! I couldn't make sense of it, until after I woke up: Earl! I was dreaming of a time in PE, when all the mip mips were still with me - from Quizzy Lizzy to Earl! The confusing thing was that Mewthos was his current size and Mini was somewhere in the background! Weird ...

I spent the morning doing some clean-up in the game. Spreadsheet and that. Took me all morning, too!

Oh and very early this morning, Mewthos was prowling around the bed - restless and taking it out on all of use, as usual. I tried to grab him for a cuddle and got a paw full of claws in my chin for my troubles! Bleeding like a stuck pig before sunrise! Get a cat, they said! It'll be fun, they said! Ha Ha Ha! No, I have no regrets! I wouldn't want any life that doesn't include my mippies!

Well, well, well ... some interesting development on the cigarette ban court case! Apparently the government asked to postpone the case, as - in their opinion - it is no longer urgent, but their request was turned down! Furthermore, the lawyers seem to agree that their case - given the documentation presented - is a slam-dunk, and they hope the case will be settled out of court. That gives the government until tomorrow. And the only 'settlement' would be to lift the ban! Tomorrow! Wouldn't that just be awesome? Well, let's just hope NDZ isn't arrogant - and believes she can actually win. I suppose all those statements about cigarettes definitely being available at Level 2, and that we smokers must just wait a little longer were meant to defuse the urgency - well, sorry, but no go! After all, THAT was the only possible grounds for postponement - they couldn't claim that they needed time to prepare, because all that was asked was the documentation on which the decision to uphold the ban was based - over a month ago! And that documentation proved to be rubbish! Sigh, the games they play!

But can you imagine? After almost 10 weeks to FINALLY be able to buy cigarettes, legally, again? That would just be awesome!

I'm already enjoying the effects of smoking this 12x stronger crap! My throat is sore, and this morning I had quite a bit of coughing to get through. Sigh.

Oh, and BATSA will also continue their court case, which they dropped for Level 4 as they'd made a deal with government. Only - surprise, surprise - government didn't keep their part of the deal! So, now they are jumping on the bandwagon, too!

I'm planning on going in to work on Wednesday, hopefully my deliveries will be there, by then - though I doubt it. The cat food, probably, but the others not likely.

I've managed to bake another 2 batches of cookies - grin, just in time, too! Ha Ha Ha! And I have another dough in the fridge, so I can bake another 2 batches. I'm making them even smaller now. I'm out of chocolate chips, so I'm baking them without now - but still press half a piece of baking chocolate into each cookie after they've baked. Lovely the way it melts into the cookie!

Well, we're on Level 3 from today ... but for me, nothing has changed. Alcohol is available again, and I hear the queues were quite something! I can believe that! I'll be in the queue myself, when cigarettes are legal again!

I see NDZ is now accused of violating the ethics code. That should be fun! Definitely more interesting than any soap opera I've ever watched!

Remember I said the National Health System would be a good idea? I do remember it being on the table in the past - though only vaguely. Until this lock-down, I've paid practically no attention to what's going on in the country, and even less to politics. Well, here's the DA's view on that announcement. Another 'backdoor' announcement was that money would go to SAA. But the one which seriously worried me - which hasn't made any news, apparently - is that the president announced something along the lines of 'using pension funds' ... I'm waiting to see that in the press, as I'm hoping I misunderstood that. Tomorrow's Coronacast should be interesting!

Mippies came in without too much of a wait. Mewthos only in time for the 2nd treat and Ziva quite a bit later. I enjoyed a hot bath again - looking forward to the treats I ordered, now! It seems Mewthos has run off his energy outside, as he isn't playing catch tonight! I'm glad about that, ha ha!

I spoke too soon! He's on his 'play with me' mission right now! I just spent 5 Minutes catching and cuddling him, while he's purring up a storm! And now he's sitting next to me, mewling for more! What a ham!

Well, it's now nine, but I'm not really tired. That's because I keep getting up later every morning. I should make a point of getting up early again - only ... it's so cold! So much nicer to stay under the covers when it's cold outside!
