She's back now, but yeah. She didn't come home last night. I walked the whole perimeter with the torch for at least half an hour, calling her; I started frying meat; I opened the fridge door - both with the kitchen window open. No Ziva.
Eventually I had to give up and go inside, after all, there are three frightened mips inside, now. I gave Mewthos and Janey their treat, gave Mynx more food as well and then sat on the bed ... hoping. I had closed the passage door and left the front door just slightly ajar.
I was going frantic, painting black pictures ... Mynx has been with us exactly one week. And then I recalled that Ziva also went missing exactly one week after her litter was born - which gave me hope. So I was at least able to sleep.
Interesting thing happened, though: with Ziva out, Janey crawled into the cuddle cave! She curled up and enjoyed getting her ears and chin scratched! Later on, Mewthos also crawled into his spot next to me and mini, as always, sleeps on my left. I was cuddled by all three mippies!
Mini cautiously approached Janey for a sniff, but Janey growled at her, so she retreated. Later on, Mewthos approached mini for a sniff - mini had her back to Mewthos, so she never knew - but there was no growling from Mewthos! He just sniffed and retreated unhurriedly. I think we are beginning to make friends - although, in Mewthos' case, I strongly suspect that mini's food bowl is the motivating factor!
Around four this morning, Mynx licked my face again - I think it's her way of letting me know she'd like some food, please. I do get up and give her food when she does that.
At twenty five to six the alarm went off - I hoped it would be Ziva coming in, but I suppose the noise of the alarm scared her off. THAT got me seriously worried now ... but as I was about to leave for work, she mipped outside the passage door to be let in!
Phew! I took time to sit and scratch her ears for a bit before going off to work. I think, this afternoon, when I get home, I must first sit with her before allowing her out again!
