Friday the 12th

Is it really the 12th and not the 13th? Sjoe, what a day!

At least I got a good night's sleep last night. I woke up early, fed the mini, went back to bed - it was only four - got my face licked, so I got up and fed mini again. Repeat until my alarm went off and I got up to make my coffee. I cleaned the litter box - boy, that little one's poofies pong! It hasn't got any better - I think it must be the mousse. She's really too old to need it, but shame, she needs some pampering and building up!

At work, I got caught weight-lifting by my boss! Ha ha, no, not dumbbells, I was moving raw material. Brass bars, to be exact, which weigh only about 20kg. My boss reckons I should get someone to do that for me. I promised I would with materials too heavy for me - I wouldn't risk an injury on duty. He He.

At home, mippies were not in the window ... when I opened the passage door, the three of them were sitting there, looking at me! It took a moment before they went out. Mini was nowhere to be seen ... which gave me quite a fright! But she was just sitting by the bathroom window, with her toy track.

I got quite busy, first bringing the PC in - after feeding the mini, of course, then I made some dough for bread rolls, watered the garden - which didn't actually need it, I could tell it had been watered today. Then I set up the PC ... only to find that the mouse & keyboard won't work! Nada. Nothing. Not at all! I changed the batteries - still nothing. Crap! Crap! Crap!

Eventually, I left it for today. I plugged in the wire mouse - so now the PC at least has a mouse, and I'm now typing on the laptop.

Janey went and climbed into the shed outside - I don't know what attracted her, but I was somewhat worried whether she'd be able to get back out! Outside, there's a wooden post, which is how she clawed her way up to get in - but inside? I fetched a rock to stand on, so I could peek inside and see ... and I needn't worry, she can get back up to get out. Just not down. Silly girl! She was quite happy exploring for quite a long time and I was beginning to worry, when I heard her clawing her way out ... and onto the roof of the shed. Now, the means how she used to get down from that roof has been removed ... and she stood up there looking for some way down! I obliged by coming over and offering my back for her to jump on; she accepted.

Getting mippies inside was quite simple, Janey came in rather early, Mewthos was easy to lure in ... only Ziva was still on her walk about. It was still early, though, so no cause for concern. And she came soon enough, long before I would have started worrying.

She is really a special kind of cat. She does need special attention, unlike the mippies. She doesn't handle change, especially an additional cat, very well. It's not that she's nasty or bad tempered, she just is not as confident and self assured as her offspring. She has, after all, had a long time of struggles, fighting for survival. Cats tend to keep bad memories for a long time; it takes lots and lots and lots of good memories to bury the bad ones. After all, that is how they survive - not just cats, I guess.

She is, however, coming to tolerate the new addition. There is less hissing and no more swatting at her than she does at Mewly when he wants lovies and she isn't in the mood. Earlier this evening, she jumped onto the bed face to face with the mini - there was growling, but I can't tell who it came from - and all she did was paw at her, halfheartedly. And then I got to see her play with her fluffy ball again! I haven't seen her play since mini Mynx arrived, so ... it's looking good.

Janey is also still quite aggressive towards the mini. But they are getting closer and closer before jumping apart as if there was an electric spark! Ha Ha!

Mini finished off another entire tin of mousse! I only have two tins left, so I'll have to try and stretch them out to last until Tuesday. That'd be half a tin a day. Poor muffin! But she's eating her sachets as well, just not as enthusiastically. Right now she's on the bed napping - and starts purring up a storm every time I touch her, tickling her tummy or scratching her ears.

I planned to bake the rolls tonight, but the trouble with the PC kind of threw me. That really ticked me off. The dough just keeps rising and rising, though, so I took it out of the bread machine - I wouldn't want it to run over the top and get into the machine, where it would become a mission to try and clean it up. So, for now, I've put it into the oven.

I decided that I deserved a long, leisurely bath. Ziva almost joined me! She jumped onto the rim, slipped and one leg splashed into the bath with me, ha ha!

It's quite late now, and mippies haven't had much attention from me, so I'll just close this for now - I want to re-read it, before I publish, as I've been somewhat distracted while writing.

Good morning. I slept well and got up only after six. I've re-read and taken out the stuff about work ... I think it would be a good idea to start a separate blog, something professional, rather than personal. Going step-by-step how I'm working towards turning the manufacturing professional. I could write that at work, since it is work related, so it wouldn't take up any of my precious free time at home.

Big mips are already on their in-and-out and in-and-out, I've given the mini a tin of the meat I had got for Saturday treats - she laps up the gravy but leaves the meat! Fortunately, Mewthos cleans the bowl every time he comes in.
