So, I opened the cuddle cave and Ziva crawled in. I scratched her ears and chin for at least half an hour, then decided I'd like to take a nice hot bath.
My skin is getting somewhat dry, so I decided to use bath oil, rather than foam bath. I also never get around to actually putting on lotion after a bath - well, mostly now, because it's too cold, I just want to get into my clothes fast. But I've got this 'in shower moisturising lotion' from Nivea, so I decided to apply that. Okay, so I got out of the bath pretty oily, but at least my skin isn't dry anymore.
When I got back, Ziva was still in her cuddle cave, patiently waiting for me to come back! I sat in my spot and continued our cuddle session. Janey tried to get into the cuddle cave as well, but Ziva swatted at her, with claws out! I know this, because my hand happened to be in the way. Poor Janey, she's the one getting neglected! She's not getting her cuddle session and when I try to go to her, she pulls back. I'm not sure what to do about her ...
Janey went and sat at the foot of the bed, with her back to me. I stretched to stroke her quite a few times, but she showed no interest ... then Mewthos came and circled the bed, stuck his nose into the cuddle cave, got growled at, retreated, circled again and finally settled down with Janey and the two of them cuddled and washed each other. Mini settled on the arm chair while I had all my three mippies on the bed with me.
This morning I woke up to the alarm and got my face washed by mini again. I fed mini, made my coffee and gave mippies a treat to calm them until the sunrise. I don't feel comfortable with them outside when it is still night dark.
This morning, of course, I'm feeling the effect of not having eaten properly for two days - I'm really hungry now. I'd love to bake some fresh rolls, but I didn't prepare any dough last night. I'll do that today. I also still need a baking tray to fit into the oven, though.
I'm dividing my time between mippies outside - Janey has come for a stroll through to get lots of attention from me. I uncovered the vegetable patch to give the bees a chance to get busy during the day. There are some cucumbers trying to grow and my tomatoes are in full bloom. And then I come back inside, partly because it's really cold outside, and partly, of course, to give mini mip attention.
Ouch! I've just seriously stubbed my left toe! Mewthos wanted to come in, so I opened the passage door, mini tried to make a dash for freedom, I tried to block her with my leg and bang went my toe against the door frame. That was really painful! I let Mew in, then took of my shoe and sock - the toe was awash with pain. I just warmed it a bit, but it was so painful, I went to lie down with the toe under the duvet ... I felt a bit faint as well. At one point it looked as if the entire toe would turn blue, but now the pain has subsided and I'm back on my feet - although it is, of course, quite tender.
I went to my veggie patch and clipped some wilted leaves. As I said, quite a few cucumbers are trying to grow, and so is one marrow! I've also hung up a load of soaking wet laundry. Sigh. It's not that the machine isn't spinning, but that it isn't draining water while it's spinning. I don't know what to do now ...
I'm up and down playing doorman for my mippies. At the moment I've got Janey inside, Ziva just left again. They come, they mip, they come inside, they munch, they nap, then they stroll to the door or - like Janey right now - mip at me for attention.
I've spent a lot of time with Janey, then let Mewthos in, who curled up in the cat carrier. Mini is napping on the armchair. And I've put a french loaf in the machine. I considered making dough for rolls, but the loaf is just simpler, especially since I still don't have a tray for baking in the oven.
All my mips came inside for their noon time siesta! Including Ziva, who slept in the cat carrier. Mewly curled up on my chair and Janey on the bed. Mini is still on the arm chair.
Cor, I can be such a twit at times! I've been looking for a better way to wash my floors for quite a while. The sponge mop I have works fine on large, open floors, but here my furniture is crowding the place that it's difficult to move; I always have to move the furniture aside to wash any space properly. So, where does the twit come in? Easy! Today I decided to google alternatives ... and guess what? I already HAVE the solution! In my home! Only draw back is, that it's a steam cleaner - more electricity, I'm afraid. But it's perfect! Light weight, no need for slopping water buckets or anything else and since I've already re-introduced the water filter, I even have filtered water to use. So: Duh!
I've done just about all the housework needed this weekend, laundry is dry and folded, dishes are washed - so, tomorrow I can do just whatever I feel like!
