Hectic Monday

Yikes! What a day! I got up a little late, but got to work on time. I gave mini food in the morning and the gobbled and gobbled and gobbled!

At work things were unbelievably hectic. Why? Not because my new staff is booked off for a month - although, that's a bit of a blow; even though I expected it. But the real problem is, that production is now so relaxed that everything is left to the last minute - and then I have to scramble to get the paperwork done. And since that's the last step, the perception is that I'm the delay ...

That's about enough to be said about work.

On the way home, I stopped to get milk - but nobody came to the gate. Sigh. Hopefully tomorrow. Back at home, mippies came rushing out but mini stayed in the passage. I wonder if she is now scared of outside? First thing I did, though, was to give her food - poor mite seems to have been starving! She finished nearly two sachets - and then her tummy looked like she's swallowed a golf ball!

Today, when I called them in, Ziva finally ate her treat! I sort of stood in such a way that I blocked her view of mini, but even when she could see her, she ignored her and carried on eating.

Then I tried engaging them all in play. Mewthos got his usual enthusiastic about it, until he landed face-to-face with mini - and took a swipe at her! So, I took a swipe at him! And he stalked off to the litter box. He eventually came back - carefully - and the next time he landed face-to-face with mini, he merely hissed at her. Since she hissed back, I took no action.

Now, I'm trying to write this, but mippies demand ... och, I don't know ... there's hissing, growling, mipping going on in the background. I had better go open the cuddle cave ...

I'm beginning to wonder whether my mippies will ever accept mini? They never accepted any of the visiting strays - only tolerated them, and even that not all the time. The mini comes running to me all the time, and she's asserting her personality - she doesn't actually like being picked up. I think, because she feels vulnerable?

I had Ziva in her cuddle cave and when I tried going to sleep she got awfully restless again, prowling the windows, trying to get out - until I grabbed her and stuffed her back into her cuddle cave.

I woke around three this morning and wasn't able to get back to sleep - if I had, I would have overslept. By six, I was ready to run away - so I came to work. Leaving the hissing and growling mips to themselves ...
