Wednesday

Work was ... work. Nothing worth telling.

Back at home, mippies zoomed out at top speed - as usual. I went to join them outside ... and found no pack of cigarettes by the door. I didn't think much of it, and went to fetch a new pack ... only to find that my old pack had been the ball in a game of kitty soccer! I found it behind the door.

I sat outside writing my shopping list. When they let me know that they've decided it's time for their treat, we went inside. I treated them, cleaned their litter box, put the bread in the oven and fried my dinner. Dinner was shared again, much to the delight of three happy mippies!

I tried to sit down at the PC, but mippies prefer that I tend to them. So I took out the white mouse with the bell on an elastic string tied to a stick - funnily enough, it's the same toy I first bought. This is a replacement. At that time, Ziva looked at me as if I had gone mad - what's wrong with me? Why am I dangling a toy in front of her nose? Last night, however, was very different - she enjoyed swatting at it, taking turns with Janey! Janey, of course, loves anything that moves! Especially if it has a tinkly bell on it! Mewthos was the only one not joining the fun - probably a good thing, since he has a way of spoiling it for the girls. He just launches himself at toys!

My theory about both milk and fruit juice linked to chocolate cravings went out the window last night. I dearly wished I had some chocolate, so I fetched my chocolate chip muffins. Ziva joined me and licked the top off one muffin - I don't know why, it's not like she's getting any chocolate that way (which is why I let her, since chocolate is not good for cats). Janey also came to investigate and took a few licks.

By now I had grown nice and comfy in the bed, so I didn't want to get up to sit at the PC again, both ladies had settled themselves by my feet and finally Mewthos came for lovies! He crawled under the duvet, walked over me - ouch! As he stepped on soft upper parts! And then he settled down by my side where I could comfortably scratch his ears and tickle his tummy. He stayed for an hour. Then it was time to go to sleep ...

This morning I woke up to what sounded like the howlings of a sick dog - but turned out to be Mewthos at the kitchen window, warning off a ginger cat outside! Who needs guard dogs?

But that was around five, so I went back to bed - and when the alarm went off, I really didn't feel like getting up and out of my snug warm bed into the cold! I still had time for coffee, though, when I finally did make the effort.

On the way home tonight, I'll stop to buy milk. If he's not there today, then I should be able to get milk tomorrow on my way back from shopping. I've decided I'd rather have no milk, than store-bought milk. Spoiled brat that I am becoming.
