Thursday

I spent the day at work puzzling out a new system. I want reports from the data I'm capturing about stock movement - but it's not set up to produce any meaningful reports, so it's quite a challenge. At the end of the day, capturing data is not worth the effort, unless that data can produce reports based on which decisions can be made and produce meaningful monitors promoting pro-active rather than re-active management.

Back at home, I had to water a few plants which were drooping - but it gets so cold over night, I fear they could freeze! Ah well, I planted them in the wrong season. Mippies had fun chasing here, there and everywhere - albeit only shortly, as they came in around six, which is now their usual time.

I treated mippies, then fried my own dinner, which I had to share with three happy mippies! And then I treated myself to a hot bath! Lovely! I sat in the bath while mippies played outside the bath, dashing into the various boxes I leave on the bathroom floor for them, behind the curtains and occasionally jumping onto the rim of the bath to check whether I'm still doing the crazy water thing.

After the bath, we all went to bed, I put on an episode of Enterprise and played mousey-catch with all three mippies. I have to make sure each one gets a turn, since only Mewthos has the bad manners to interfere while I'm playing with Ziva or Janey. If I don't give Janey a turn often enough, she gives me this big-eyed sad look! And watching Ziva stand up on her hind legs to grab the mousey with both paws? Priceless! As a result I had no time at the PC - not that I mind in the least.

My Mewlarm went off at five followed by my alarm at half past. I'm glad it's finally Friday, mippies are eager for a day out! And they'll have three days in a row, since Sunday is a public holiday - and in South Africa, if a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday is a public holiday to compensate for the loss of a day off.
