Apparently we went to Stage 4 at ten last night. BAM! No notice, just BAM! Yeah, not like I didn't see this coming ...
Today not just the 12:00 - 14:30 but also 20:00 - 22:30.
Tomorrow 02:00 - 04:30 & 10:00 - 12:30 and tomorrow evening 18:00 - 20:30 ... that last? The worst time on a weekday!
And this, of course, messes up my Sunday - because now I have to come up with dinner plans for the week that don't involve cooking. And, of course, I can't stay outside this evening, till I feel like coming in ... I must come in so I can get everything finished by eight!
Just past eight, kitchen clean, bread dough on the go - it'll be done in twenty minutes. Which is the only time I have for a break. When the dough is done, I must shape the rolls, while they rise again, I need to peel and cut apples for the pie, then roll out the pie dough ... etc. etc. etc.
All scheduled in a row, on a just-in-time schedule. I hate this! Load shedding sucks!
Quarter to ten, kitchen is clean, rolls and pie are in the oven. When I started rolling the pie dough, it crumbled. Again. Guess why? I'm silly - I should have taken it out of the fridge earlier, give it time to get to room temperature. Yeah ... live and learn, eh?
Tenant showed me the house he'd built for Smeagol ... less than a third the size we discussed! So, now he's starting again ... says he forgot our discussion. So I asked "And that's my problem, why?" He He He. Sorry, but so far and now further ...
Well, I still have to cut the potatoes to make the potato salad I'm now planning for this week ... cold dinner.
Tenant mowed the lawn ... yeah, didn't turn out to be 'quick and easy' as he had thought! He seriously struggled with the section with the compost heap - he wasn't getting anything mowed, so I showed him. He struggled with that section for a whole hour! He even resorted to using the hedge cutters! Yeah, this garden is not for sissies!
Myself, I started extending the bed in front of the veranda - and discovered a whole host of baby Vinca growing there! I'm extending that bed just in time - or they all get mowed down! Well, not quite that bad, but they could do with room to spread.
Of course, once I went outside ... I really don't want to go back inside.
Well, all's done that need to be done.
I enjoyed some quiet time on the veranda - and for once, I was able to just sit and enjoy. Mewthos eventually told me it's time to go in ... and Janey just led me a merry chase! Wouldn't come in. And her family? They colluded with her, so I was quite literally herding cats ... catch one, bring it in, go out to get the next, and any inside cat comes out again. Once I finally had them all inside, Janey hid. And with load shedding getting closer and closer ... thank goodness I had showered earlier! It was twenty to eight, when I could finally sit down here!
Now it's quarter to ... Janey is medicated, although I'm not sure how much went down her throat! Not much I can do about that ... I'm doing my best.
Oh, and load shedding will go down to Stage 3 tomorrow morning - but that makes no difference to tomorrow's schedule ... Sigh ...
