Dark LS 2 Saturday

Woke up just after five, got up, finished the last coffee ... waited for the power to come on.

In vain! Just after six, the messages started coming in - our Group was already back on in other areas, so the fact that we were still off ... power outage. Reported. Wait ...

Twenty to ten, power comes on ... just long enough for me to start a happy dance ... then off again ... on again ... off again ... quarter to ten comes on and stays on!

So, what did I do all this time? Well, for one, I mowed the back lawn. I'm the one looking at that every morning and every evening, so I'm the one who WANTS it to look nice. And it isn't much work, anyway.

Why isn't my tenant earning his keep? He's at work today. He'll do it tomorrow. He has three jobs: build Smeagol's new home, mow the lawn, fix the cold water tap in my shower.

He thinks that isn't much work ... he he he ... he forgets that 'mow the lawn' includes the sections my neighbour didn't mow, like the one where the compost heap is. Smeagol's new home is the first on the list, though - poor bastard doesn't know why he's being punished (evicted from his safety place) as a result, my whole house is 'marked' by Mewthos!

At home, I finally cleared and cleaned my desk! Doing that properly took a good amount of time ... I mean, when cleaning a desk starts with a brush and dustpan ... yeah, you know!

I also unpacked the cat food delivered last week - turns out they sent one last bag of the Iams my mippies are used to. When I open that last bag, I'll have to get some of the new stuff and start mixing it with their preferred food, slowly changing them over. Hopefully ... 

My mippies are smart! They will know. Chances are, they'll pick their favourite out of the bowl and leave the rest behind ...

First thing I did, when the power came on is to brew a fresh pot of coffee! I'd been back on the instant coffee during the outage - gas cooker, hot water ... 

Next, I loaded the washing machine.

Cleaned the kitchen, hung the laundry ... almost noon ... 

Twenty to two. Pie dough is in the fridge. Floors are swept and washed. Well, I left out mippies room, but ... well, what needed doing is done.

Load shedding tomorrow, again from 04:00 - 06:30 and also from 12:00 - 14:30.

Ten past two, laundry folded and packed away - except for the jeans.

Jeans are in, beans are blanched and in the freezer. It's almost five ... all work and no play ... or, in my case: all indoors and no outdoors. My only issue is, that I don't yet have a plan for lunch for the week. I've got potatoes, they won't last forever. I also have mushrooms growing again. This time, I won't make the mistake of waiting a week, again!

Well, I spent some time in the garden. Cleaned my tomato plants! They are HEAVY with tomatoes! Looks like a bumper crop again! Ditto bell peppers! I counted five already growing - more flowers already blooming ... I'll just need to water them a lot!
