Dark LS 4 3 Monday

Power went off after eight, load shedding. Storm hit - I heard an almighty boom ... but I was about to fall asleep, so I ignored it. Woke up a few minutes after midnight - as expected, power off! Couldn't log in to report, so I sent an SMS to report. No response ... back to sleep.

Woke up somewhat late, tenant was already calling to be let out (we still have only one remote for the gate), checked my messages, got a reference number ... and WhatsApp Group is awash with messages about the power outage. I gave through my reference number ... nothing more I can do.

At five this morning, we dropped down to Stage 3 ...

I asked about our shutdown plan ... I'll be taking off from 16th December (next Friday) until 8th January. That's 13 days leave and 3 weeks off.

Tried to order Chocolate, etc. No use ... most of my items are now priced beyond my means. Which tells me that someone has 'taken over' delivery, as in it's no longer available directly from the manufacturer, but to be ordered via some con-artist. I don't know HOW they fiddle the Takealot site to remove the original manufacturer from the supplier list, though. But that's the only logical conclusion for price increases of 25% and more.

Tried to order flour, etc. from Faithful to Nature - can't log into my bank to pay. Same thing happened with ePetStore ... I ended up paying through my bank. I'm not sure why I keep running into this issue lately ...

Tried ordering Whiskas - same issue. So the problem lies with Ozowe - the payment service provider. Paid both via EFT & sent them proof of payment.

It's past ten and there's still no feedback regarding the power outage at home! Teams only started looking for the cause after five ...

Juice also ordered - they use a different payment service provider, I had no problems.

Right, urgent private stuff done - back to work.

Just past one: message from home that the power is on! Phew!

Load shedding six to eight tonight ... I don't think I'll feel like writing ... if I can even get online that time. So ... publish now.
