I seriously struggled to fall asleep last night - that's the caffeine in the Coke I drank yesterday afternoon. I know plenty of people can drink caffeine last thing at night, then fall asleep - well, I'm not one of them. Every person's body is different. That's why we don't all like the same things.
Mippies enjoyed the extra attention they got throughout the night, though! Oh, and I've decided that this weekend, I will buy myself a new UPS. We have these power trips, where the power goes off for less than a minute - which, with no functioning UPS, switches the PC off instantly. Every time!
For the non-PC knowledgeable: a UPS is a universal power supply. You plug your PC into that, and then the UPS into the wall socket - so, if, for example lightning hits the power lines, it will fry the UPS, not the PC. It also has a battery, so if the power supply is interrupted, you have time to turn off the PC; as these 'crashes' eventually cause problems. Of course, that means that you have to plug your monitor into the UPS as well, which is only a problem, if you have a Mecer monitor! Like I do! Why? Because Mecer likes to be difficult - they have a uniquely shaped power connection ... not the standard one accepted by all UPS'. Sigh.
At work, I'm trying to design an MRP system in excel (MRP = material requirements planning). I had one designed, but outside chop-n-change messing has ... well ... messed it up. So, I want something simple to meet my needs. Adapting to every new 'quick fix' has resulted in so many patches that it's become way too complex.
Anyway, back at home, mippies are happy to see me, mewling and mipping for their various forms of attention. I've cut another leaf of tobacco tonight - nothing more. I just want to relax now ... I didn't sleep enough last night, hopefully I can catch up on that tonight.
