Lock-down Day 198

I slept a lot, though I'm not sure how well I've slept. I'm still somewhat tired. I only got up nearing half past six this morning. Struggling to get started, as well.

Mippies are pestering me for ... all sorts! I've treated them, brushed them, cuddled them, still ... they want more! They're still not using the furniture I bought - maybe it's time to bring out the catnip?

For myself, I'm still taking it easy, not pushing myself, just doing what I want. And since having a nice home is something I want, the work it takes to get there, is not something I need to push myself to do.

Laundry is in progress, first load on the line, second load in the machine - apart from this weeks clothing, I'm also washing blankies and curtains. I just love being able to wash whatever needs washing whenever I want to! Well, mippies permitting! They demand a LOT of attention - and I confess, more than I have in me to give all the time ...

I've given Ziva her deworming pill - third time's the charm! She spat it out twice, but then understood that I won't stop till she swallows. Now I can't find her ... I think she's under the bed? I'm not sure whether to be glad about the peace or whether I should worry? For now, just going the 'grateful for the peace' route.

I've swept the mippies room, hung up the washed curtains ... which mippies have torn badly, as well - grrr. Third load is in the machine - washing the feather pillows and the bag, so that I can pack away the feather duvet and pillows again. Dishes are done, refuse bins and drawer are clean. Oh, and I've cut one of the boxes in half, and use the bottom half to pack all mippies toys - open in their room. So their toys no longer need to be in one of my drawers.

Mippies are still staying away from the furniture I bought them. Sigh. I've sprinkled some catnip on it, and now I've folded and packed two of the clean blankies into the beds. Step by step, making progress. I think my next step should be the spinach?

Ah, Ziva just came strolling in ... not sure where she'd been hiding, but at least I don't need to worry!

Right, spinach is in the sink, washing. Next step in the large sieve followed by steaming, then packing and freezing. Considering the water involved in both, I think the best option will be to first freeze it in the vacuum bags, then vacuum pack it.

Twenty past two, I've re-arranged the lounge, unpacked all the boxes in the kitchen (mind you, not all kitchen boxes, just the ones I had stored there), next load is in the washing machine, I've cleared all the empty boxes out of the lounge ... been busy. Oh, and I've scrubbed the shower - not deep cleaned, just scrubbed. For now.

Four in the afternoon, I think I've had enough for today. I've swept most of the floors - just looking clean, not yet really clean. Good enough, for now. Curtains up in the kitchen and the lounge. I still have to process the spinach and the meat, though. I'm leaving that for tomorrow ... yes, I'm leaving a little too much for tomorrow ... ah, well! I may not manage everything.

I'm adopting a strategy against mippies: when they want to cuddle, I lift them onto the new furniture and scratch their ears, etc. When they step off, I stop. Nasty, eh? Ha Ha Ha!

And just for fun, I've just moved the fridge from the washroom into the kitchen. Turns out, it fits next to the sink, after all! Even better: when I can finally afford it, I can even fit a double-door fridge-freezer there - or an upright freezer, whichever I choose! Cool, eh? Oh, moving the fridge was quite simple, since the back is on wheels.

I was going to make do with more cheese for dinner, but then found a little extra energy and sliced myself a sirloin off the 6kg piece I bought this week. I'm also remembering how to best prepare food on the induction plate - I'd forgotten that you can reduce the heat on each setting!

Oh and some news: I haven't found a single puddle this week! Not one! Let's hope it stays that way!

Twenty to eight, I've put on the ceiling fan in the bedroom, which relieved some of the stuffiness in here. Now I'm watching Stargate, and then ... sleep!
