Lock-down Day 167

My Mew-larm is even more punctual than my a-larm! He literally sits next to the phone and starts mewling a minute or two before the alarm goes off! My big, fat weirdo!

I've been reading posts by friends from PE ... the city has now completely run out of water! Literally! Those who can afford it, must now buy their water at the stores - those who can't afford it, or can't transport it ... supposedly there are tanks in place, but who knows where, IF they really are in place? Can you imagine? They have been with zero water for the past six days! Geysers, which have run dry, have blown elements - when it turned out the thermostat was faulty ... Unbelievable ... just ... I mean: water! I was going to ask 'how could this happen' - but I know only too well. A municipality which ignores that there is a problem, makes no plans and just hopes the problem goes away ...

I'm thinking of all my friends in PE ...

Well, I finally - or rather, again - pulled myself together and made a few phone calls! There's a cosy little house available nearby, with a garden - I'm waiting for an appointment to have a look. Only trouble is, that they're looking for a tenant 1 October, even though it has only just come on to the market. However, the agent - an intern, so she may not yet be fully ... uhm ... bad? LOL Anyway, I've come across her name several times already, plenty of houses to let in the area. So I'm looking forward to meeting her and see what comes off that. I also called one of the ladies from last month again - she has another nice place on the market. No answer, though - I left a message and will try again. Also nearby. Both places going for less or the same as I'm paying now!

Having arranged some actual action on the home search - even though I'm still waiting for the appointment - has lifted the depression a little. I'm hoping to see at least one potential new home this week - maybe even two! That will make a world of difference to my spirits - and my mippies, as they worry about me! They are home so quickly nowadays after I let them out - although, that might just be their addiction to Whiskas!

I give them one sachet Royal Canin first, and they gobble for a bit but soon mip for their 'real' treat! Ha Ha Ha!

Mini brought her own treat last night - she caught a mouse, which she took into the shower where she likes to play with her prey. I think she's figured out that the mat is not a good place - as I'm forever picking and cleaning up there, whereas I don't do that in the shower. Well, until I want to use it, of course.

I'd like a home where they are allowed to leave their toys outside! Where I'm not forced to put or pack them away constantly, because 'landlord' doesn't understand what toys are.

Back at home, I meant to do the dishes, but didn't feel like it. Instead, I went and sat outside for a smoke. All mippies were hanging around, coming for scratches - but Mewthos and Janey took my sitting outside as a 'go ahead' to run off and play! I let them! After three or four cigarettes, Mewthos came mewling along and I called Janey, who didn't let Mewly wait very long! Mini had to be carried in, though!

Well, I've played catch, shared my dinner, given Ziva her special treat of milk from my cup (she loves to be allowed to share from my cup! Prefers that to having to join the whole tribe around the bowl on the floor!). They each have their little special thing they need to know that I see them, individually, and will do my best to spoil each in their own preferred way! In return, they make every effort to know what I like, and communicate that to each other, so they all work together to let me know, I'm loved just as much!

So, I really want a home, where I can allow them to have the freedom to play! The sooner, the better ...
