Feeling much better today, thank you! Back to my normal self, no depression, no pain, no headache. Even my hearing seems to be back to normal - Mewthos' mewl is as annoying as ever, and I can hear the gas again, when I turn on the stove.
At work, I arrived a little early and had to wait for someone with a key to open up. Not a problem, though. It's unpleasant in winter, but not so bad now, when it's over 10 degrees Celsius in the mornings.
I managed to leave my phone at home - silly! Meat delivery arrived around ten, though - awesome! Man, that sirloin is one large piece of meat! I love it! I'll enjoy cutting myself really thick steaks tonight and packing them. Lovely thick steaks!
Oom At needed something from the pharmacy, so I took him - and while he went there, I tried the nearby Spar again for filters and a hand roller. Still nothing - but they said they'd order for me and will have by Friday! Holding thumbs! I bought my one carton of cigarettes for the month - to keep me going, when I haven't been able to prepare my stash.
Had a lovely chat with a close friend this morning. She's struggling as well, but still okay. I'm not the only one struggling with depression around this whole lock-down effect - not that I thought I was unique, but it's good to hear from someone the same words I feel.
I've been trying to work our material requirements and found a couple of issues with my spreadsheet ... challenge, ha ha ha! I'll carry on with that tomorrow.
A client tried calling me today, but I had left my phone at home - and true enough, when I got home, I found that Mini had tried to answer! Ha Ha Ha! Phone was on the floor, all bits scattered! Fortunately it's a keypad one, so nothing broke - it can handle being dropped!
At home, I get busy with the meat. First the chicken fillets. Those brought back memories! When I lived in Durban, and times were lean, I practically lived on chicken fillets! I once had a visitor and cooked them every single day - each day differently - she could hardly believe when I told her it's been the same meat all the time! I made Schnitzel, Stroganoff, Kiev, Gordon Bleu - you name it, almost every variation you can think of!
I originally meant to freeze them four per packet, but 2 was the right amount - I had to make quite a few more packets. The bags I have are about twice the size I need for any portion for me, so I cut them in half, seal the other half. Which takes time ...
The Sirloin was a pleasure! I cut myself lovely thick steaks, again quite a lot of them, too! By this time, mippies were inside and Ziva and Mewthos enjoyed the smell of the meat ... soooo much! They enjoyed getting little pieces as well! Ha Ha Ha!
Then I took a break and wondered whether I should finish everything, or leave the bacon for tomorrow ... but it was only 4 more packets, so I went ahead.
I shouldn't have. Guess what? Landlord banged on the door, opened and barked about the noise! Which has been going on for two hours already! Sheez! I have to listen to their boeremusik, opera, church service, etc. all weekend long, but me working when I get home, THAT'S a problem? Seriously, this is ridiculous!
Well, the bacon was the last of it, anyway, so I was almost finished. When I came to sit down at my PC, I saw an sms with the same complaint. Still shaking my head ...
On another fun note: Mewthos and Ziva both love bacon as well! They couldn't get enough - and I couldn't pack it fast enough ... good do know, though! Little darlings! I had to watch for the sneaky paw reaching onto the table, occasionally - temptation right in front of their noses, very hard to resist!
Well, I had the left-over pasta for dinner tonight, now I'm enjoying an episode of the current series with some mippie mewling ... uhm, cuddling ...
