Lock-down Day 166

Slept reasonably well, mippies got busy early - and when they get busy, I get walked over. I don't mind these morning massages. It's their way of including me in their activities.

For my non-South African readers: Some of you may have seen something about petrol-bombing and looting Clicks Stores. It's the most ridiculous thing you can imagine! What happened is that Clicks published an advert for a certain shampoo (sent to them by the manufacturer of that shampoo) and it uses 'black' hair as an example of dry & damaged and blonde hair as an example of healthy hair. So, one political party went up in arms and destroyed as many of the stores as they could.

We're facing unemployment, corruption, brutal farm attacks, gender based violence - and we're fighting over a shampoo ad!

On my personal front, I'm still fighting this internal battle to do more than just look at properties online ... I'm, once again, torn between renting through an agency or directly from an owner? I'm beginning to think that it's not so much about that, but about the personality of the person I'm renting from. Or rather, the level of maturity and professionalism. That agency in PE also talked down at me - same as my current landlord. Remember how she ran her fingers over the curtain rail to scolded me to dust that? Yet made no mention of the fact that I had replaced all curtain hangers and end stops - all of which were missing when I moved in?

This whole situation is depressing me. Mostly, because I just can't seem to solve it ... I have no plan, no check-list ... no real clue how to get this resolved.

At home, I meant to wash the dishes, but then flaked out. Strangely enough, I decided to bake a batch of muffins, instead! When I went to check on them, I found the gas was finished ... so, I changed the bottle! Doesn't sound like much, but it's the first time I did that myself. No problem!

Mewthos doesn't miss a chance to take a stroll onto my back! Today, I was picking up spilled kibbles ... next thing, he's settling down for a nap on my back! I shuffled along to the bookshelf, on hands and feet, hoping to entice him to stroll off again! He has no trouble jumping ON to my back, but there is some trouble turning around and jumping off again - so I usually need to find a place for him to get off. Which usually involves some awkward motion to get there - with a cat on my back, careful not to let him fall! My little weirdo!

Time to go to bed and give lots of lovies!
