It's been a busy day at work. We received a delivery of some 20 thousand small parts, which takes time to count - even with a scale.
My leaves were delivered today! That was fast! I'm afraid I was a little disappointed, I had hoped it would be the cat treats! But they arrived later this afternoon, so all is well!
The Facebook group is now posting far more helpful suggestions, on how to process the leaves, also much more detailed! Which I find very helpful! A plan is coming together ...
It's Rose's birthday today, so I gave her a call. It was lovely to hear her voice - but she gave me so much sad news ... I'm afraid that darling Franki crossed the rainbow bridge in April. In the middle of the hard lock down - trying to get to a vet was a mission! I'm very sorry about Franki - I really loved that cat! Such a beautiful boy! But he was 18 years old - and enjoyed a good life with Rose! Rest in peace, dear boy!
Then another acquaintance passed away in December; and that acquaintance's son died recently of COVID-19! He was not yet 40, healthy, fit, no comorbidity ... It's frightening!
Rose has been at home since the lock-down - which has her feeling rather cooped up! She's used to being out and about most of the week, but better safe than sorry. She tells me she goes for a walk around the block every day now. Just to get out a bit. Oh, and the upstairs flat is not only empty, but for sale now! Apparently the tenants moved out before the lock-down. Good luck finding a buyer for it - especially with the coming drop in property values! Nobody has money now!
My leaves came with the recipe book I had ordered, I've had a quick glance through - looks quite helpful, too! I'll spend some time on it this weekend. I'm not yet worried about flavouring - just let me get the processing right, for now!
At home, I got busy - again! I baked a batch of muffins, got my mippies in - Mewthos and Janey let me wait tonight! Not too long, though! Then I prepared the ingredients for bread - I haven't decided, yet, whether I'll bake rolls or a loaf. I did take out some cold meat to roll up into the dough, though. I just hope I don't forget to set it up tomorrow, so the dough is ready when I get home!
I fried myself a small steak again, which I - also, again - shared with my mippies! They just love the sharing! They're not greedy or ugly about it, just very eager! Except for Mini - for some reason, she has sort of withdrawn from the sharing process. For the longest time now, she just sits in the background ... hopeful! But never demanding! It's easy to 'forget' her at times - especially with Mewthos and Ziva at my feet, Mewthos sticking his nose on my plate, if I don't cut his pieces fast enough!
Well, it was about quarter to eight by the time I got to sit down here and write this ... now I'm tired and ready for bed, again. I've made myself the last 2 rolls for tomorrow and packed 2 of the fresh muffins as well. I've already eaten on, too!
