Lock-down Day 101

A busy day for me. I got up early enough, but this cold is not very pleasant. I don't know what time I will manage to get up tomorrow - I did mention that I couldn't promise being at work on time.

Okay, it's quarter to one and I've got a lot done already! Floors are swept and washed - major job! I'd been leaving the washing part for a little too long. And, whenever I share my food with mippies, they mess on the floor, of course! So, that was the absolutely biggest job - 5 or 6 x 10 liter buckets of water ... I'm exhausted!

I've also baked bread rolls for myself, and now the next dough is in the machine - for a loaf of bread for At and a base for my pizza. I've set out the ingredients for cookie dough - just have to mix it, still. The margarine should be soft enough by now.

Just don't ask me when I will find the time to process the tobacco leaves which are STILL soaking in water! Sigh!

I've showered, and topped the pizza with mushrooms, steak and mozzarella - all sliced into little pieces. I didn't make much effort - I'm too lazy now - and the mozzarella isn't covering the pizza, as it should, but it'll have to do. I'm not even sure if you can just bake mushrooms like that - I usually fry them first.

It's just after three, and the cookie dough is in the fridge, as well! Now I still have to wash the dishes and then I can think about getting cigarettes ready for tomorrow ...

Twenty to four, pizza is baked ... it's a bit crusty and the cheese is a little burnt. Note to self: the toppings are fine, as long as there's a full layer of cheese on top, so it can bake inside, not dry out on top. At's bread is in the oven. Kitchen is clean - cleaner than it has been in a while, since I washed the floors this morning.

Sigh, and now I don't really have a plan how I'm going to process the tobacco leaves ...

Okay, I think I have come up with a plan. I take them out of the water and let them dry a little. Then I roll them up tight and cut thin strips - as thin as I can make them. I put those onto a baking tray with baking paper, then put that in the oven where it's safe and can dry ... slowly. I'll turn it when I'm home, but it can dry during the day as well. Only problem is, that I've got way too many leaves already in the water - but the first lot, which I washed only once, for about 2 hours, was somewhat too strong; so this batch should be better for me.

Biggest trouble is, of course: time! Not only because the process takes such a lot of time - but I also can't leave things between processes. The tobacco gets too dry or too wet and then I can't fill my tubes. But the good news is, that the cigarettes I made yesterday, smoked very well! So, progress!

The pizza was as not very nice - but that's what happens when I rush and don't do a proper job. Still, very edible, just a bit crunchy! I packed 2 pieces for work tomorrow. Everything is ready, now I must just fill a couple more cigarettes for tomorrow!

Three of my mippies came home very early - poor darlings don't yet know that their outies time is over ... They were also disappointed with the mutton stew tonight. Sigh, I'd better give them their 'real' treats again tomorrow night. Janey came not too late, either. And no shenanigans tonight, either - they're all curled up on the bed! Mini was happy to get her fortress back (my work pants), which I've put out, fortress-style, for tomorrow.

Well, I've filled a dozen cigarettes, cut more tobacco for filling, now I'll make more tubes and take it all with me to work tomorrow. I'll have to keep up the tube making every evening, for the time being. Sigh. Ah, well ... I'll figure it out and then I'll be on a roll, ha ha ha! Pun intended!
