I'm beginning to loose track of dates. Fortunately, some of my daily activities involve the current date, so I'm not completely afloat, but I find myself wondering which date it is, several times during the day. I need to keep track of it, as I have fruit juices in the fridge which have an expiration date :) I don't like waste, so ....
I had quite a good night, and in the morning the usual 'wild-west, who's the fastest draw' game with Mini. She'll sit on either the night stand or somewhere else, just off the bed, then waits for me to open my eyes and only when I open them does she make a grab for my cellphone! It's her current game, to see who's faster! Try winning a game of speed with a cat right as you wake up!
They were VERY happy to see me re-filling their Fit 32 dispenser last night! They love that stuff - don't ask me why. I've tried to switch them over to Orijen, which is far more nutritious (so they should eat less to get their fill), but they just nibble it. Oh, they like it, but they don't love it. It's also very expensive - the higher the nutrition, the higher the price. But, since they need to eat less to get their fill, it usually works out cheaper. So: higher price does not mean more expensive.
Taking it easy today again, in a way. The muffins are not very nice, I'm afraid. I just eat the 'tasteless' parts first, leaving the bits with chocolate for last. I'll definitely never make that mistake again! Ha Ha, knowing me, I'll end up using twice as much sugar next time! Or be so worried that I forgot it again, I add it a second time! But they are very much nicer - apart from the lack of sweet. So, the amount of oil should be fine. I'm getting low on cocoa now, though - but I know I have another tin somewhere. I read others find the shops have none left now, either ...
I'm rationing my smoking even further now. Working on just 1 per hour. I think I'd better work towards that now, when I don't yet absolutely have to. I did that before and had cut down really beautifully ... working towards zero ... but then I was held up at gun-point, and went right back to smoking 30-40 a day! Well, I'm doing quite well for now. Okay, so some hours have only 50 minutes, ha ha ... but I'm getting there.
I'm just wondering what I'll know when I have some hindsight on this whole situation ... it sometimes feels just so bizarre! Sometimes I ask myself 'Why such extreme measures' - I confess that I don't fully understand it. But since I'm completely ignorant with biology - I don't have an actual opinion. And I'm not really interested enough to do the research - it's not going to change anything, anyway.
Well, my watermelon water-ice turned out well! I put most of the meat back into the freezer - only 2 items had defrosted - and I managed to find space to squeeze 4 of the 7 cups somewhere in the freezer. So, three of them are to be enjoyed today - and I am enjoying them! Okay, a bit cold and that's not good on my teeth, but overall, it's the best way to enjoy watermelon!
Since a packet of mince had defrosted, I'll be making Burritos tomorrow. I still have one of those kits - last one, and I won't be able to replace it for a long time. So, last Burritos for a long time to come! Oh, and I also have some Guacamole in the fridge, which won't last much longer, so: perfect timing. I have cheese as well, just no lettuce.
Shame, Ziva quite enjoyed her Weruva tinned food - only to zip it out again a few minutes later! Poor dear. Then, when she tried to retreat to her current favourite spot, among my teddy bears, the fan fell off! She got such a fright, she hasn't gone back up there since. Well, she took a stroll through, but clearly I wasn't able to re-arrange them comfortably for her. She needed a lot of ear-scratching and tummy tickles to settle down again - she's now curled on my armchair with Janey! Mewthos is in the shelf next to me. Mini is on the bed. At least I won't have trouble finding space for myself on the bed tonight!
