Wednesday

Today I'm missing one of my oldest friends. Not old as in her age, but we've been friends for over 30 years. It's her birthday today, and I have no means of contacting her. She's moved to the UK, and as a result, we've lost touch. Such is life ...

I woke up around one in the morning, for no discernible reason. So I got up and had an excited swarm of mippies under my feet! I'm developing the cat-lady shuffle - since cats don't grasp the concept of clumsiness, they can't comprehend that I could step on them accidentally, just because they move under my feet! I went and sat on the bed until they had all gathered nearby, counted mippies, then sneaked off into the lounge - shutting the door behind me - for a smoke. They don't like that! And every time, when I open the passage door, they're all gathered awaiting my return! Mewthos usually dashes into the lounge to see what he's missed!

I went back to bed and managed to fall asleep again. The mosquitoes kept me awake for a while, though - I felt like a smorgasbord, itching in more places than I could count! I do put the fan on at night, but they don't seem to find that a problem. Maybe they just suck so much blood from me, until they weigh enough to buzz where they please? It's irritating, though.

Still, I woke up on time and got to work on time. Not much to tell about work, I'm quite busy - and enjoying myself. My two cat food orders arrived - both in one box. With two orders, I mean that I have one scheduled every 6 weeks and one every 2 weeks, and today both fell together (well, they will, every 6 weeks!).

Aaaaand, I managed to forget the cat food at work. No big deal, though, I'll just bring it home tomorrow. At home, the effect of my midnight wake-up kicked in - I'm so tired, I could just drop off and sleep any time now ...
