Early Tuesday

I was woken up in the middle of the night by a cat fight! Ginger had come around and sat on the window sill, caterwauling, hissing and growling at Mewthos - who reciprocated in kind! A hairy situation to wake up to, ha ha! But that explains the spraying on my bedroom walls - I could smell that Ginger had sprayed the outside ... Sigh.

I woke again about quarter to five and decided to get up, as I was feeling energetic. I had my coffee, cuddled mippies, gave them a treat, cleaned their litter boxes, filled their multiple kibble bowls - they currently have five varieties of kibbles to choose from! The last of the Indoor stuff in one dispenser, their favourite Fit 32 in the other, and then I put a handful each of the Orijen, Iams Multi-cat and kitten kibbles into the bowls.

When the Indoor kibbles are finished, I'll fill the kitten kibbles into that dispenser. Ziva is very fond of kitten food ... well, they all rush to that bowl when I fill it. Mini, for whom it is intended, doesn't touch it! She is very keen on all wet foods - when the big ones go to the kibble bowls, she goes and cleans out every last drop in each of the wet food bowls, starting with Ziva's, then Mewthos' and lastly Lady Jane's.

I've used the last of the sand and it's getting somewhat low in the box. I doubt whether it'll be fine until the weekend - but I'd like to give the box a thorough wash before I put new stuff in it. I'm also thinking of removing the grass carpet - with tiles and the wood fibers, it's much easier to just sweep up than to try and get it out of the grass mat.

At work today ... I kind of took a break. I'm stuck on a problem, so I've spent most of today online rather than focused. Nothing is falling behind, just my own little projects. I've also had a chat with my boss, and I'm afraid some of my frustrations bubbled out ... He agrees with me wholeheartedly, which is nice, but ... if nothing changes, nothing changes. Well, I've got the go-ahead to re-arrange the store - within reason. That's actually what I wanted to talk to him about.

I was expecting two deliveries today ... ha ha! When I expect deliveries, they don't come. No worries, though. I was just keen on seeing that cheese making kit, to get a look how it's supposed to work. But tomorrow is fine as well.

On the way home, I stopped for petrol. I had to laugh when the petrol attendant asked whether the car has been in storage for a long time - he's referring to the layer of dust and dirt on it!

The forecast thunderstorm seemed to be somewhere ahead, I did see a few lightning flashes and, just before my turn off, a bit of rain came down. But it was over by the time I reached the turn off.

By the way, that accident scene looks awful! Even though it has been cleaned up thoroughly, and repairs are almost complete - but the burning cars and trucks left clear signs of the tragedy.

At home, I let the mippies out ... and first I had to fun of washing a puddle of piddle! I do not understand why it happens or who is responsible. It was a whole puddle, I ended up washing half the passage floor! Ziva came inside and watched me work, she also played with her current favourite toy, the glittery yellow ball.

Both Ziva and Janey stayed with me - after a short stroll outside. Only Mewthos and Tynx were outside. I went outside, but it was windy and cold, so I didn't sit down. Three of my mippies were under my feet, quite ready to come inside and forfeit tonight's outdoor run. Only ... Tynx wasn't there. And she didn't come when I called. I was getting quite worried, when she finally came running - at top speed, tail high in the air!

I gave them their treats and then started cooking. First I fried the liver for my mippies - Mewthos was quite impatient! I had to pick him up and hold him in my arms so he could watch!

I gave them the fried liver and Mewthos, Janey and Tynx investigated eagerly. Ziva? Sniffed, but turned her nose up! Janey also walked away, Mewthos took one piece and chewed and ate, then walked away. But Tynx? That little one continued to eat and eat and eat and eat until nothing was left! Her tummy looks like she swallowed a tennis ball! About half an hour later, Mewthos had wrangled another treat out of me and - would you believe the little one came running again? AND ate again? Yikes! Where does she put it?

Then I ate. Ziva came to watch and enjoyed a few pieces as well. She seems to like whatever food I'm eating - no matter what it is. It's that I'm sharing with her, and she's eating off a fork, just like me :) That's the important part, to her.

While I washed the dishes - yes, you read that correctly: I washed the dishes tonight! Anyway, while I was busy, Mewthos continued to mewl and paw and mewl and cry. I'd pick him up, then put him down - no idea what he wanted. That's when I gave the final treat.

After that, I went and sat in the bathroom watching Ziva play with her glitter ball! Too darling! When Tynx came to join, I thought they might start to bond - but no. Ziva just sat back and waited until she might get a turn again. But at least there was no hissing, no growling and no swatting.

Then Mewthos joined. And he ended up half in and half out of the little box - so Ziva started to wash him! He loved that! And then, for no reason I could discern, he attacked Ziva! At first just their play fighting, but he got more aggressive, he ended up biting Ziva's neck, holding her down - she was on her back - and then there was growling!?! That's when I stepped in and called him off! I have no idea what got into him! He's a real weirdo!

Eish! He just came along and that place on his throat has opened up again and is bleeding! It's like the thin layer of skin which had formed, just split open. It sounds worse than it is, but it's got me worried. It was healing nicely and now it's bleeding again. Well, at least it's bleeding, not seeping. I've cleaned it and put ointment on. Lets just hope it will now heal for good!

On second thoughts, it was probably itching and he used his rear paw to scratch and that most probably tore the gash in. It looks like a scratch, only the skin was a little tight so it's kind of pulling apart a little. Again, sounds worse than it is.

Oh my! Mewthos just went to where Tynx was sitting and after some sniffing, started to wash her! Only, she didn't know what to make of it - she's probably never had a fellow cat do that for her ... which makes me wonder: what about her mother? So she sniffed Mewthos back and then just sort of strolled off ... somewhat unsure what to make of that.

Sigh, I had better go sit on the bed and scratch ears ... Ziva is insistent, Mewthos is mewling ... I'm clearly wanted.
