I’ve been wondering about Silver, on the one hand, she
is very affectionate. Like when she first moved in, she’d sit on my lap for
hours. And now she’s usually nearby, which might just be the birth being close,
but she also gets excited when I walk into the bedroom, which she associates
with cuddling. Happily jumps on the bed, looking at me expectantly! As a matter
of fact, that’s how I tricked her this morning: led her into the bedroom,
petted her a bit, and then dashed out the front door locking her in.
When I got home, I found that our gardener hadn’t
turned up. Probably because it was overcast the whole morning. Ah well. First
things first, I let Silver out. She joyfully capered about, checking out both
my neighbours’ gardens, then took pleasure in making use of her preferred
litter box, aka the back garden. And then she came back inside – with no
interest in going out again!
My neighbour has taken Dark Silver to be fixed. Well,
current pregnancy aborted and spayed. She’s about as far along as Silver was
when she first turned up. She had walked into my neighbours home and my cunning
neighbour closed all doors, he he. It’s truly a case of seemingly cruel to be
kind. I admire her strength. I’ve opted for the cowardly way – letting her stay
and have her kittens.
I cooked myself dinner, mushroom stir-fry with chicken
strips – it’s only called mushroom stir-fry because they sliced up a single
mushroom and placed the slices on the top of the packet filled with strips of cabbage,
carrot, onion and pepper. Mostly cabbage, of course. I’ve decided to try some
new dishes this week – so far, it’s not working out very well, I’m afraid.
Well, tomorrow night we’re invited to dinner from
work. An early one, as some people have a long drive home. I’m not sure whether
I really want to go – with Silver so close now. Yeah, I know, I’ve been saying
that for the past two weeks. True, though.
Of course, she’s not always around. After dinner she
decided to go out for a bit – and of course, when I want to close up so I can
bath (won’t leave the door open while I’m in the bath – though it’s no safer
leaving it open while I’m in the lounge, actually) she decides to give me a
look, turn her back and walk away! I eventually had to lure her back in with
food! She ate and now she’s lying on the floor in the passage. It looks quite
funny – she’s facing me, and looks from the front like the Sphinx. Little head,
thin chest, paws tucked underneath … and then followed by a very, very wide
rear end!
Ah well, enough musings, time for cuddling and sleep.
