Garden

I enjoyed the first hour of the morning bird role-call concert in bed, it was a bit nippy out. When I opened the curtains, the windows were steamed over – and I got a surprise! The first Iris in bloom – how could I have missed that?

First Iris
Silver was already outside, waiting for her morning nibble – she’s not eating much anymore, so I guess she’s no longer starving. I shouldn’t keep mentioning my neighbours cat coming up to steal food as well, some people might think he doesn’t get fed at home and that’s really, really not true! My neighbour really looks after both her cats, spoils them, if you like. She puts down a variety of food, watches which of her cats likes what best and makes sure they always have plenty of their favourite food. Good food, too! She also cooks treats for them regularly! Whereas I put out the cheapest variety of cat food since I don’t actually have a cat. Ah well, the mind of a cat is an enigma.
Got caught? Gone in two seconds
When I tried to open the gate, to bring the drum inside, I found the guide-bar twisted in between the two sides of the gate. I had a really tough time trying to untwist and wrench it open. The garden disservice hasn’t been around, so I’ll have to talk to our gardener.

Filling the drum is hard work, I didn’t get all that many thorns our, but cleared a good stretch. Where we’ve cut back the hedge, the Tecoma is growing hard and fast – it’s all green, even flowering!
