SoD Day 27 Dark 12 hrs LS 5 4 Wednesday

My morning and evening routine with sick cats is starting to get to me ... and poor Mew-Mew is so depressed! I haven't heard him purr these past two days!

This morning, when I tried to give him his meds, he bit it into pieces, then spat it out! Sheez ... nothing I can do about that. His wound is healing well, though. As soon as I don't see any blood when I clean it, he'll be allowed outside. Hopefully Friday afternoon! This morning there was very, very little!

The babies will also have to go back outside soon. Their eyes have been fine since the second day - Sunday. Lady Sybill comes to me when I enter the room, enjoying play time and plenty of cuddles. Vimes just sits under the sleeper couch - but very close, not far at the back - hissing and growling if I get too close. Still, I was able to grab him to medicate him last night.

I made a mistake with the load shedding. The four-to-eight schedule is only Thursday night, not tonight. Still ... sucks! Half an hour isn't much, but it is something! I can at least cook, and run a bath!

Which I did last night. Half-way through, the power went off. No problem, I had enough water.

We had a bit of rain last night. Not much, just a bit. Power came on just after eight, as I was still playing with Lady Sybill ... internet was surprisingly strong, but not strong enough for me to watch anything. Well ... I went to bed ... listening to The Fellowship of the Ring.

I've been meaning to load the Two Towers and the Return of the King on my phone ... just not gotten around to it, yet.

When I went to bed, I remembered WHY I had planned an order with Faithful to Nature: my Eau de Buzz-off is almost finished! I need some mosquito repellant - and the one they offer, doesn't contain Citronella - which cats can't stand. Sigh ...

Okay, order placed. Paid with my credit card ... which is reaching maximum ... shite ... still, I also ordered coffee, hand crème, and a bar of soap - because I got a discount voucher for the soap. Plus, I'm low.

Finally a response from Sir Fruit! The person I had been writing to is no longer with them - I'm not surprised. They now responded to the 'business hours' part of my complaint, but not the missing bottle part. So, I wrote back and asked about it ... I don't see much improvement, there ...

Ah! They called! They'll include the bottle in my next delivery - as I suggested, PLUS they'll include the smoothie I didn't get the time before! Nice! AND they confirmed it in writing! Promising ...

Oh, nice! <using the voice of Onslow, from 'Keeping up Appearances'> No more Stage 5 load shedding, starting now. Only <yeah, it's become acceptable to call this 'only'> Stage 4. Until further notice ... Well, at least I'll have power tomorrow after work, as load shedding now ends 18:30.

Our power is still of, though ... 12 hours, so far ... Ah! Power back on! About quarter to one ... not sure when it went off, so I'll leave it at 12 hours.

Mippies Whiskas arrived! They will be soooo happy! They don't like the 'good quality' Royal Canin wet food ... kids, eh? Give them junk food any time ...

Sheez! Speaking of cats: Another lion on the loose! That's the third or fourth time this year! It's this load shedding ... the electric fences that are meant to keep them safe ... well ... those need electricity ...

Ah! My Faithful to Nature order is already on its way - should get here tomorrow! Nice! So, only the Takealot order outstanding - that's due next week Friday. Oh, and the regular cat food deliveries - Royal Canin Wet food and 15kg Iams. Again!

Well, it's ten to five. Load shedding tonight again from six to eight. Sigh ...
