Busy evening last night. I visited Mewthos. Apparently there's been some more discharge, which is why I still can't bring him home. They said earliest weekend ... I miss him at home! He's the energy behind my mippies.
I spent about an hour with him - halfway through, I took the ferals to the car. Smeagol was upsetting Mew-Mew ... and vice versa.
Smeagol didn't take well to being caged - looks like he bashed his head against the bars repeatedly! His whole face is red and swollen!
Look at that! Poor bastard! He cried a lot of the way home - not all the way, though. And peed in my car! Thank you, Smeagol! Grrr ... I took a photo before I let him out, though. Oh, and apparently he's estimated to be anywhere between 5-7 years old ... apparently it's more difficult with older cats.
The kittens were less difficult. Sat mostly quietly, waiting ... once at home, though, it was a different story! They're both girls, by the way, so I named the tabby Tabetha. Yeah, I know, not very original (did I write that already yesterday?) Strangely enough, the tabby is the one which stayed around, or rather, came back fairly quickly. The black and white one dashed out of the cage, into the back section behind the grapevine, and I haven't seen her since!
Then I went and brought the baby outside! Happy Lady Sybill! Spent the first hour playing happily with her brother! Then, for some reason, wandered onto the veranda ... almost as if she wants to come back inside ... yet, at the same time, doesn't want to be inside. Well, she'll have to make peace with Mini first, if she wants to be indoors.
With the kittens playing in front of the car port, I didn't have the heart to set up the sprinkler there ... nor to disturb them, by pampering my plants. I just sat on the veranda and watched ...
The mommy seems to be taking to me, since her steri - comes running to me at top speed ... stops half a meter away, then hisses at me not to come any closer! Lady Sybill enjoyed a game of rat race ... like I used to play with my mip mips!
When I unpacked the juice - this time packed in a box - I discovered on bottle missing. Marked as 'N/S' on the invoice ... so, another mail asking 'what's your plan?' Sigh ...
I discovered the best way to warm up food is on the induction plate - just use the 'milk' setting! I don't know why that took me so long to figure out ...
I've done a bit of research, and with regards to cooking, the most energy efficient appliances to use are induction and pressure cooker! Induction is even cheaper than microwave! I'm now working on building up a recipe book for the pressure cooker. Just the cooking instructions, not full recipes - I know how to spice my food. Just need the cooking times for the different goods.
Speaking of which, I went and got groceries today. At Spar, I stayed within budget - got 1kg chicken hearts again, for the ferals. I don't remember where I wrote down the cooking instructions ... sigh ... see what I mean about putting together a booklet?
At the butchery, I asked for 2kg chuck, one piece, to roast. They didn't have in their shelf, so they brought a carcass fresh from the store, cut out the chuck ... almost 5kg! I told them, if you cut it in half, I'll take both! Then I won't need to bother them next week. Apparently the clientele there doesn't go for roasts, they buy everything thinly sliced, presumably to fry. They don't mind getting me what I want, though! Takes time, but it's fresh and perfectly cut for my personal preference!
I also took 1kg topside mince, as they just brought that, too! So, on the meat side, I went badly over budget ... but only for this week. I won't buy roast next week, so it'll even out.
Well, ten past three ... almost time to visit Mew-Mew! My poor baby ...
