Lock-down Day 728

Not the early morning I had hoped for. I ended up leaving quite late ... and was pleasantly surprised to see very little traffic on the road! Surely the e-hailing strike isn't having such a huge impact on traffic? Well, whatever it is, in total, it took me less than an hour to get to work - with At! So, only half an hour out of my way.

The toad has been identified as a raucous toad, which can be poisonous to cats! When harassed, it produces Bufo toxins from glands behind its head. So, now what do I do? While it was out back, coming out ONLY after we'd gone inside, that was fine ... but now? Sitting on the veranda? Mippies WILL be intrigued ... though it doesn't really move, unless someone comes close to it ...

I went and got basic groceries. I also 'treated' myself to a coke. Not my favourite drink, but it's just about the only 'treat' I can afford. Well, chocolate has become a necessity. Yeah, I know it isn't really, but for me, it is.

I left half an hour early, and traffic on the way out was mostly bearable - the last stretch, though, we hit traffic. It would have been worse had I gone back the same way - so I went the alternative route ... which also turned out mostly bearable, until I got to DF Malan and hit heavy traffic. I got home half an hour later than usual.

I checked on the toad ... and: you've got to be kidding me! There are now two of them! The big one still cuddling my Rosemary and another, smaller one, hugging one of my Frangipani! I'm going to try evict them both tomorrow.

I've showered, eaten ... now I'm just going to wind down ...
