Somewhat late start to the day, much to Mewthos' disgust! I only got up at six - he's been mewling to get active since my alarm went off!
As always, I do want to get some cleaning done these next three weeks, so I'm having a look around, what do I feel like, today? I'm thinking of trying this 'stripping' process for my towels - even though I wash them regularly, they do seem to hold on to some grime ... I looked it up, and apparently I need Borax. I'm sure I have some - I've looked in every logical place, but can't find any. I've put it on the list for Tuesday.
Not-yet-great A'Tuin is fine - still scared as anything of me. Poor thing.
Well, I'm taking it easy today. I started with the laundry, I meant to clean the kitchen - still do - but then I went and cleaned the weeds in my flower bed, out back.
I've washed the dishes, so now I can vacuum pack the meat, and pack it in the freezer.
Also done. Remember how I was craving potatoes yesterday? Well, today I have time. So I've cut the entire 2kg bag and it's in the steamer. I'll be heating up Sauerkraut to go with the potatoes, for today. And tomorrow, I'm thinking of making a mushroom sauce.
Oooh, that hit the spot! Exactly what I needed! Sauerkraut and potatoes!
Just after five and it's starting to rain. Just a slow drizzle, for now - but there's a storm brewing. I've packed up the garden - well in time, and now I've also unpacked everything. I had left most of the deliveries just standing in the lounge last week, not bothered to unpack.
Well, we had a few drops of rain, but the storm is still brewing. Smeagol showed up, so I gave him some attention and then sat with him for a bit. He just wants me nearby, sometimes. Same as Snoopy! I miss Snoopy! He was such a loving cat - just pick him up and he starts purring like a diesel engine! And he'd get so much pleasure playing with all mippies' toys!
Anyway, I pulled up my stool, brought the pot and started weeding the car port. I cleared up the the fence, and then just couldn't stop - I reached through the fence and pulled everything I could. My arm is going to be black and blue tomorrow!
Well, mippies are in, treated, and I've had dinner. Now I'd like to shower - but with the thunder rumbling outside? I'm not too keen on being in the shower during a thunderstorm.
It just occurred to me: should I make some shelter for the the tortoise? I looked it up, and apparently I can leave it outside, unless it gets very cold, suddenly. Which isn't the case.
The power went off for a minute - just enough to mess with my external hard drive! Fortunately, when I turned it off & on again, it worked again!
It's still raining ... gentle, steady rain. Good for all plants - especially weeds, I'm afraid! Ha Ha!
Well, I'm off to bed ...
