Lock-down Day 291

Early-ish morning. Mippies were all excited to go out ... and ... here I am, dressing for work! What a let-down! Poor darlings!

It rained a lot over night, though - I saw, to my delight, that my rain cup is half full! That's at least 10 mm! And it's still overcast and drizzling - hopefully more rain on the way! Either way, I can do any weeding I wish, tonight!

Oh gosh! Another 'family meeting', as our president now calls it, when we're getting lectured about our 'bad behaviour'! The daily Infection rate is going up, recovery rate is going down - it's not looking good. I'm not sure about the exact legal process, but I hope they cannot ban the sale of cigarettes, again! I am afraid, though, that they'll level us up! And if we got to Level 4 or even 5, I don't think I'll be going to work ...

Back at home, I checked the gauge: we had 30 mm rain overnight! Note to self: when the water level is just below the holding ring, that's 30 mm - not 10 mm! That's a good amount of rain, though! Pity there was no more during the day, though!

Enough rain, to dig up weeds! I did try the pavement outside the kitchen - but I still can't get a good grip ... I cleared what I could. Then I moved to that last bit along the bed, which I couldn't do this weekend, as the ground was too hard. Not so hard, now! And then I re-did the stretch along the fence from the corner up to where I could start yesterday - then finished the last stretch. Now that whole border is nice and clean! Ready for me to widen it into a bed! That's tomorrow night's project: take the fork and loosen the ground all along the fence, then - time permitting - start cleaning.

My right arm looks like I stuck it in a boxing ring, though! Bruises all along, from wrist to shoulder! Top and bottom! Looks really bad. It's from sticking my arm through the mesh - then getting it stuck. Then pulling weeds from behind the fence. It looks much better when I clear the weeds outside, as far as I can reach! And the bruises will heal!

Well, I should probably shower now ... but I only just put on the geyser. It's half past seven - and I do want to hear what happens. I don't want to be caught by surprise.

Everyone is tired of this whole lock-down ... we just want our lives back! Yes, me included. Even though my live is not really affected very much - as long as I can go to work, the only difference is, that I have to wear a mask. Occasionally. Not at work, though. I'm mostly alone in the store. But when I go shopping, I wear it. Always.

Phew! Staying on Level 3! Closing land borders - with exceptions, and curfew now from 9 to 5. Which means, I no longer need to check that I don't leave before six ... although ... well, I've barely gotten up before six, this year!

I'm curious about one thing, though: how can there be a vaccine against the corona virus? I mean, many people have now had COVID-19 twice! Also, how come there's a vaccine ready so fast? It's puzzling ...

Anyway, I've not had dinner - just munched a chunk of cheese. Nor have I packed lunch. I'll get a Dagwood Sandwich tomorrow.

On the home front, good news: Mewthos is coming the bedroom again! Not yet all night, but right now, here's here, twirling my jersey again!
