Early morning, after an early night! I did the laundry yesterday, so today it's the kitchen chores turn. I still haven't decided what to eat this week ...
Internet is frustratingly slow, again. So I'm getting right into the kitchen.
I've washed the dishes, bread dough is in the machine, time for a little gardening! I finished picking up the cut grass outside my bedroom, so that area is done as well. Then I tried to continue clearing between the rock garden bed and my lawn - but the ground was just too hard. I was about to give up, when I noticed the area along the fence seems less dry. It's in the shade, under the Jacaranda, and I got busy there - making good progress!
The bread dough is ready, I've rolled some rolls, and cut chocolate pieces, as I had also taken out a batch of cookies. Now I'm just waiting for the oven to warm up ... but the kitchen is really hot and unpleasant! It was bad enough while I was washing dishes in hot water - but now? With the oven as well? Not pleasant! Much worse than outside!
I just got invited to chicken braai again! Same guy. Sorry, I'm in the middle of baking now :)
Well, the ground is getting hard again. I cleared what I could along the fence, now I'm wondering where to work next ...
I decided to re-clear the pavement outside my bedroom. I don't know what I was thinking - I could just as well have cut that before they mowed! Actually, that would have been less of a mess. I guess after all that 'proper lawnmower' talk led me to expect miracles, ha ha ha! No worries, though!
I finished the part I had already cleaned before, but - since the ground was still hard - I could only cut, not pull any weeds. Half-way through, I put the sprinkler on the bed I had finished yesterday, as I had added more succulents. New, baby ones. Remember that little decorative collection Rose had put together for me, before I moved? I still use that little pot - to grow babies! Especially of the ones, of which I have only a few, not yet many. It's working beautifully and I'm continuously adding to my collection! And it keeps that little decorative pot ALWAYS pretty! I really love that little thing - it's so beautiful! I just add a little soil to it, now and again.
Well, as I was busy on the pavement, I felt a few drops of rain. More seemed to be on the way, so I packed up and turned off the sprinkler ... turns out, it was sprinkling the sky! I suspect Smeagol, as he was arriving for dinner, just as I was about to turn it on. I had placed his bowl out of the water range ... still ...
Nice rain coming down! At least one mm, hopefully more! That means, tomorrow evening, I can weed anywhere I choose! I think I should be able to get more roots out, on the pavement outside the kitchen. I've left those weeds to get a little bigger, as they kept breaking of. I was waiting for rain, so that I can hopefully get more of the roots out!
Oh, and I tried my best to arrange all those rocks in that succulent bed artistically! But that's not something I'm good at - I'm a pattern kind of person, not chaotically random. Whether it's cutting chives or arranging rocks!
Half past six, everything done - just still need to pack lunch. Oh, and I'm too lazy to do the dishes again ... well, not so much too lazy, just low on energy.
Anyway, I'm settling in for the night ... mippies convening on the bed!
