Wednesday

Bit of an upset at work, when I heard that they want to take away my printer - so that I should go walk to the main office every time I print! I hope that's now sorted!

When I got to the milk farmer, I found the electricity was off ... again! Sigh. I hooted twice, but I guess he didn't hear me, which is a bit of an issue now, as I meant to give him the bottles for Thursday's milk stash. I guess I'll just have to buy plastic bottles. It's my own fault, I should have done that last night.

At home, of course, mippies were quite unhappy as it was raining! And raining! And raining! They did a bit of dashing outside, but mostly they sat by the table complaining.

My bread hadn't baked, of course. Apparently the power went out sometime around two? But the dough seems to have formed and risen, so I shaped it and put it on a tray, let it rise again and then baked it in the oven. Frankly, I don't see nor taste a problem. Lucky me! My batch of cheese was not affected by the power failure and I took it out of the bag into a dish and into the fridge. I didn't mix any spices into it this time - I'll do that later.

My mega cat food delivery arrived and I had some fun unpacking - with four excited mips inspecting every move I made!

Since we had no indication what the problem was, nor when we could expect power to come back on, I washed over the basin again - I had worked quite hard and with the rain, I really could have done with a hot shower, but at least I managed to wash off the worst so I felt less sticky.

I went to bed early - having shared my dinner with my mippies, who loved my rump steak! The little one makes me laugh, though. She'll sit on the Ottoman and put her paw on my knee with a look reminiscent of Oliver Twist asking "Please, Sir, may I have some more?" I did treat them with a tin tonight, seeing as they couldn't go out to play. Still, Ziva and Mewthos kept coming back for more pieces of rump! I ended up getting just over half the steak! It's my choice - they do take 'no' for an answer and understand that 'enough' means I have to eat, too.

Argh! Speaking of dinner: I forgot to take something out for tonight! Sigh. I'll think of something ...
