At work, I'm suddenly swamped with goods - receiving, packing, delivering. I'll never understand just why everything must come in at the last minute, why can't production bring in finished goods, bin by bin, as they produce. No, they collect and hoard and then bring me the week's total production in one go ... because we're delivering today. Sigh.
I got mail letting me know that my chocolates are on their way - delivery was hoped to be today ... alas, it didn't arrive. Hopefully tomorrow!
On the way home, I stopped for milk. The bell was silent - bad sign! It means, no electricity! I hooted and the farmer came out. I'm afraid since I missed him yesterday, he hadn't filled my two bottles for today, so I only got the one from Wednesday. Ah, well. Not his fault, really! I did, however, buy a 2 liter sour milk - someone had cleared out all his stock, so no other fresh milk was available; and I can use the sour milk for cheese making. It's going to be a milk-less weekend, I'm afraid ...
I did learn from him that the power had come on around eight in the morning, but went off again around four! At least my frozen goods got some relief! Hopefully before they started defrosting ...
At home, I was glad to see that my landlord had been able to water most of the garden, so I could cover the rest with the one can I still had. I did, however, need more drinking water. Fortunately, he had also filled the tank.
I let mippies play out for a long time ... but then, ginger arrived, and Mewthos would not come in. They sat face to face growling and mewling at each other ... eventually it reached a point where the ladies ran to help Mewthos and I had to get involved. I chased the ginger cat away - but Mewthos simply followed! All the way outside the property, into the dirt road leading up to the busy tar road! I turned around ... the ladies came with me, but Mewthos refused. He came in only about half an hour later - by that time I had fed the mippies, so he only got one sachet (shared, of course, not the whole sachet for himself) and he also had to wait - as I was busy washing myself over the basin!
I had packed my lunch, cooked dinner, cleaned out the worst of the fridge and taken the bag to the car. As I sat down to eat, after having washed over the basin ... the power came back on! Fantasmorgasmic! I put aside my dinner and headed to the shower! What bliss!
I slept much, much better after a full shower and with the fan on!
