Early wake-up from cuddle-needing mippies, especially Ziva - even though I trapped her in the cuddle-cave last night! So, I left early for work, again.
My groceries went home with my colleague - who promptly forgot them there, ha ha! He'll try to collect them before we leave today, but I told him it's not urgent, so Monday is also fine.
I can't say that I'm looking forward to the rest of the shopping I need to do after work today, but ... sigh ... it needs to be done.
As I was about to get into the car, my colleague arrived with my grocery parcel! Perfect timing!
Ooooh, but shopping was a pleasure! First, I got some farm fresh milk at the Brotstube, together with my bread. And I treated myself to a Berliner and an Amerikaner, no, I didn't turn cannibalistic, they are a type of baked sweet. Not exactly cookies nor quite cake. Something like cake, but single-helping size.
Then, at Alma, the butchery, I took some marinated pork neck steaks, then treated myself to some Knödel (potato dumplings) and Spätzle (Swabian noodles, Swabia being a region in Germany = Schwaben). I also treated myself to some hazelnut flavoured wafers - love them!
And finally, at Pick and Pay, I continued the treat-streak with Bismark Herring and Rollmops, and a tin of Blueberries. I also re-stocked on chocolate and found to my delight that I earned a bulk-discount! I got lucky and got another 4 5 kg bags of cat litter, the Cigarettes were also much cheaper than at Spar, so overall I'm very happy with my haul!
Okay, so I blew the month's grocery budget in one day - but hey, that was the whole point, wasn't it? And I did get myself some ingredients for several good meals - all I need is to make the effort.
Back at home first I let the mippies out! While they were running amok, I carried the groceries inside - quite a few trips today - and unpacked what needed to go into the freezer (my ice cream) and packed what needed to go into the fridge. Then I watered the garden before sitting down with my cakes and a glass of fresh milk!
We all came in quite early, and now my mippies insist on cuddlies to pass the time! I've already spent some ten minutes with Ziva in her cuddle cave, then Janey came to mip at me followed by Mewthos, so I sat on the sleeper couch and started grabbing any mip within reach! Mewthos loved being held and cuddles, Janey enjoyed it but not for long. Ziva, however, did not like it all that much - but she didn't really fight.
I think, tomorrow I'll switch my weekend around and make Saturday my housework day, then spend Sunday in the garden as a reward. Once I get into the garden, I forget everything, including time, and nothing else seems to matter. Until I go back inside and see what I should have done - and how that will affect my week's food! Let's see how I'll do tomorrow.
