Mippies interrupted my sleep all night long with mips demanding ... I know not what. They wouldn't come cuddle, when I reached for them they strolled off, when I turned over they mipped. Sigh.

Got up only half past six, just in time to watch the sun rise. I sat outside for a while while mippies explored and strolled, then washed the dishes - with many, many mips-for-cuddles interruptions! Lady Jane in particular is being very cuddly today.

I went outside to play rat race, but they were not too enthusiastic. I tried the Mip Meister (the glove with the toys dangling off each finger) not much enthusiasm. So I took some acorns and tossed them around - Janey enjoyed those. I don't know where Mewthos is, haven't seen him in a while.

I've washed the dishes, re-arranged my freezer - now I know what I still have and what I'll need to get on Friday. Basically, I need to get only bread - everything else is still quite stocked. Hmmm, maybe some more Kebab, they're quite nice.

Next I spent a good amount of time shopping for groceries online. Spar doesn't offer online shopping, Woolworths ... yeah, nope. And PnP still don't deliver to my area. Same goes for 'OneCart'. So, first I went to that site I had found when I was still in PE: Faithful to Nature. Although it's extremely New-Age (all gluten-free and mostly vegan) I did find a few items I'd like - and then filled the bill with a few choice seeds and such. When I say 'filled the bill' I mean that I add to the cart until I reach the 'free delivery' range. Then I tried another site, where I got a few more items - also free delivery. And finally I wrote what's left onto my shopping list: Cigarettes, cat litter, fruit juices, etc. It shouldn't take me long to get everything, so I shouldn't be home too late on Friday.

I wonder when I can expect delivery, though, he he - they say 5-7 working days on the one and 'next working day' on the other. Should be interesting!

Oh, you want to know about the seeds? Ha Ha! I treated myself to two so-called Grow-Nuts. I'm not yet quite clear on how this works, but the way I understand it is that the seeds come in their own special growing housing, made of husk and fertiliser and such, so you can simply place the nut into the ground, water them and watch them grow. Eventually. Ha Ha! I chose a Protea - which I've found to be very difficult to grow - and some Gazania, which I think would make a beautiful border to the wide bed next to the path. I'll let you know how that turns out when it turns up!

I also treated myself to an 'Oyster Mushroom Growing Kit'. Don't ask - I'm just curious!

I've unpacked another box or two, I've taken out my feather duvet - mippies always loved sleeping on that! No gardening today - how's that for weird? I wanted to move the tomatoes into my newly bottomless pots, but just don't quite feel like it. I've been puttering around indoors for a change. With Lady Mip right by my side - or rather: under my feet, climbing into the duvet cover, jumping into desk drawers and such.

And then I unpacked some more boxes. I'm not sure what's come over me, but I'm happy to see more stuff outside now. But gosh, do I have a hoard of junk! Well, not so much junk as stuff I rarely need - but it's good to have when it is needed. And cleaning materials? Man, I really went overboard with that at some time - yeah, I know when and why. When money was getting tight and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to afford in future, so I stocked up on some items. Going on the old saying 'I may be poor, but at least I can afford soap'. Well, it's not wasted. And the good news is: I won't have to buy any specialised cleaning materials for a long, long time! I just need to find the time and the right mood to make use of what I do have, now, ha ha!

As I was sitting outside wondering whether I should water the garden or hope it will rain some more (there were a few drops earlier) my landlord came out and started watering his garden, so I had my answer. I watered. And again, Mewthos is such a trusting darling, I have to water around him - Ziva will run, but Mewthos? Just stays stretched on the ground, wherever he's comfy, expecting me to switch off the hose when I come near him. Which I do, of course!

The Zucchini aren't doing too well, but the Butternut are doing very well. So are the Cucumber. The Peas don't seem too happy, but the Broad Beans are very well. One is still flowering, the other will hopefully follow suite soon. The Bush Beans are so-so. They seem okay, just not very enthusiastic - yet, I think I see some buds forming. The Tomato and Basil are doing very well, though.

Well, Saturday I should have the energy to move the last Tomatoes and Basil, maybe even the Brussel Sprouts. I still need to decide what to do about the one or two Eggplants which seem to have survived. The Cherry Tomatoes and the Carrots are not doing well at all, though. They don't seem to have grown at all since I've given them their big pot and space to grow. The Watermelons are also not looking too good - I doubt they'd survive being moved.

I can always decide to sow some more seeds. But not for a while, I should probably wait until winter is over. In the meantime, I have some ideas about the Cosmos, Nasturtium and Vieruurtjie seeds I harvested in PE.

Well, I hope I'll be allowed to sleep through the night tonight. I could do with a good nights sleep if I'm to face work tomorrow.
