I went to bed late again last night, and as a result
woke up very late again. But I did have some laughs. At one point Ziva was
curled up next to my head with Mewthos behind her (from my point of view) and
Lady Jane behind Mewthos. Until Lady Jane slipped and fell off the bed! Than
Ziva left to lie on the bedside table.
A little later, Lady Jane had come back and curled up
behind Mewthos again. I coaxed Ziva to come back to bed – only: she plonked
herself right across Mewthos and Lady Jane! After a while Mewthos got up in
disgust and moved a little lower. In the end I had those three cats forming a
line from head to knee next to me, kittens stretched out, mommy curled up by my
head!
I woke up around sunrise, as I went to the bathroom,
Ziva shot out between my legs. So I let her out – then went back to sleep. And
woke again very, very late! The weather is cooler, but even this morning the
wind is blowing at an unpleasant speed! I’ve put the door on ‘wind-control’,
where I place the mallet between door and frame to keep it open, and the
doorstop behind the door, so it can’t open further. That way the cats can come
and go, and I don’t sit in a wind tunnel!
By noon the wind gusts are so bad, I’ve had to close
the door completely. None of the felines want to go out in that, anyway,
they’re all loafing around by my feet. Rose decided to visit now, before the
wind gets dangerous – one of those gusts can really push a person, and at the
wrong time, from the wrong direction, she could miss a step on those stairs!
During her visit, Lady Jane went to explore my chest
again, looking for a snugly, comfy spot to sleep. I’m sorry, but after about
fifteen minutes of her bum in my face, I put her down to cuddle up to Mewthos
and Ziva, who were sleeping under the window. While I’m trying to motivate
myself into some action.
Felines are all sitting around the front door
indicating their desire to go out, so I opened the door for them – they were
back less than five minutes later! The wind is really, really unpleasant. It
ruffles fur unpleasantly. I’ve had to close every single window, and now it’s
overcast as well.
I made a quick kibble puzzle to get them ‘off my back’
for a bit. I’ve washed out a few plastic bottles for that purpose. So I cut a
hole in it, filled it with kibbles and sat back. Ziva figured it out in less
than five minutes! She’s a really, really intelligent cat!
At half past eight the power went out.
Apparently lightning struck the power station. No further comment from me.
Anyway, they repaired it in two hours, so by half past ten the lights were on
again. Of course, by that time, I was already in bed.
