The moon shone brightly into my bedroom, keeping me
awake for a long time. Yeah, I have curtains, so? I also have five felines
opening the curtains to get to the window.
I got up twice during the night as well, so when Ziva
woke me quarter to six I was still too tired to stay awake. I let her out and
went back to bed. It was half past eight before I surfaced again.
I enjoyed a few minutes of playing rat-race with Ziva!
Unlike the Mip Mips she doesn’t go dashing madly after the stick, just a couple
of steps, but still. I think having the kittens was good for Ziva as well. They
bring out the kitten inside her, which I don’t think ever got to play much. She’s
very intelligent, she’s making a lot of effort to fit into my life, learning
what not to do. She’s less talkative now, less aggressive in getting her will.
She no longer meows loudly to be let in – partly, as she can always use the
fanlight, but mostly she waits for me to open. She sometimes sits quietly
outside waiting for me to open the door for her, and when she calls, it’s no
longer the nagging, loud, continuous whine. It’s like she’s learned that she’s
welcome here and will be let in. Always. She’s also less bothersome while I’m
eating. Most of the time. But, of course, she also uses her intelligence to get
her will at times. But overall, we’re getting along a lot better now. I think
she’ll be ok moving with me.
Long life milk was on special again, so I got a box,
as I was low; unpacked that and then Ziva and her brood played with the box. It’s
not even a closed box – but they’re having a whale of a time!
It’s too hot for gardening, so I do a few odd jobs
around the house and cook myself a lovely meal. Pork mince with carrots, peas,
zucchini, a can of chopped tomatoes, and pasta, spiced with paprika, oregano
and basil. Only, it turned out a bit much – enough for three full meals! So I offered
Rose a serving, which she accepted.
The bird got away when we took him out to clean his
cage – went and hid in my candle shelf. Which happens to be the bottom shelf of
my display – because candles are heavy, that’s why. He just sort of hopped
there – no flying, I’m afraid. He’s now back in his clean cage with fresh
water, fresh grapes, mousse and a clean bird bath.
When Rose left, I went downstairs with her and watered
the garden. I really should clean the litter corner in my bedroom, but I just
don’t have any energy left today. I don’t know why, I didn’t do much today.
Suddenly kittens come shooting out of the bedroom and
I hear crying. Ha Ha, turns out they took the banana off a monkey toy – which starts
it crying! I went to check, Mip Mips on my heels. Lizzy is the only one
approaching the monkey – all bushy tail and spitfire! She’s quite the little
fighter!
A little later I had a Moment with Lizzy. I went
through to the bedroom and sat on the bed looking out the window. Lizzy got up
and followed me, sat next to me and when I stroked her she started purring and
snuggled up to me. And the she spoiled it by looking for a teat on my arm! When
she didn’t find one, she stalked off – still purring, though – and settled
herself at the foot of the bed.
I think she’ll settle in her new home very quickly.
She may miss her mommy and siblings for a while, but I have a feeling she’ll
prefer having space to herself. I also think that it won’t take too long for
her to make friends with her new playmate, once she gets over the fact that he’s
a dog. Her new mommy is going out tomorrow to get all the items Lizzy will
need, and I’m betting that she’ll be getting toys as well! Rose mentioned she’s
busy making one for her – all pink and frills, just what she loves!
Tonight is full moon, rising just before eight, so I
decided to try and take photos of the moon rising over the ocean. As I’m
setting up by the window, Ziva wants to get to the window and some Mip Mip was
on the table throwing everything down. So I shut the window and shut all
felines up in the bedroom. So, I missed the moonrise. But I got a couple of
nice photos, but couldn’t seem to capture the aura around it. It had a lovely
ring of red light around it. Eventually I went into the garden and took a few
more photos. I’m too lazy to select and edit tonight, so I’ll try and post them
tomorrow.
The felines are all running around like crazy now, I
hope they will settle down soon. Tonight I NEED my sleep, as it’s back to work
tomorrow!
