Woke up to the sight of a kittens rear in my face –
Quizzy Lizzy has figured out how to climb onto the bed! At least I’m feeling
much better today, still a bit woozy but no headache.
With six cats living in my bedroom, I can’t forego
vacuuming any longer. I placed all the kittens I could find in the spare
bedroom, meaning for them to stay there while I vacuum. They had other ideas,
so I switched on the vacuum and watched them scatter! Picked up all the
feathers and vacuumed every corner as thoroughly as possible. I don’t have the
energy to move the bed, yet, so I’ll leave that horror for another time.
With regard to weaning the Mip Mips, Silver has
grasped the part where they don’t get to nurse much – but the part where they
have alternate food, as in food for ONLY the Mip Mips, is still unacceptable in
her mind. So the only chance they have of eating is with me watching and
flicking adult cat ears. They all ate a hearty meal this morning; and one has
at least investigated the kibble dispenser – we think he must have eaten, since
he was busy there such a long time.
Well, I’ve used my energy to clean indoors. Bedrooms:
clean. Bathroom: clean. Kitchen: good enough. I’ve even cleaned out the vacuum
cleaner! I’m contemplating taking a photo of the clean bathroom, then printing
it life-size and sticking that to the closed door! I’ve now washed my bathroom
mat – again. Twice in a row, this time to get the eau de catpee out! I must
remember to ‘park’ it out of reach in future!
In the main bedroom, I’ve picked up kitty poo twice
now – each time in the corner, behind the mirror. So now I’ve moved the kitty
litter box there. The adults were pleased with the towels I put down first –
and took possession of them; they did not like the litter tray added!
When my neighbour came for a second kitty visit, we
watched Quizzy Lizzy go into the corner behind the mirror, then sit next to the
litter box and poop. As soon as she was done, Silver followed and covered the
towel. Ai ai. I placed it into the litter tray – hopefully they will eventually
get the message!
I took some photos using a different setting: “Ideal
for active children”, let’s see how those come out. I also took some photos of
the new flowers in my garden – but I don’t yet feel quite up to working in the
garden, yet.
They're all playing quite avidly with this home-made toy climbing, walking along, catching the mouse I'll try to take a pic of them all sometime
Flowering beautifully!
Such varied colours & different flowers!
Snap-dragon
Still flowering happily away!
Cornflowers still going strong
Another nine-leaf Nasturtium
Not so long ago this was all mowed down - now look at the Cosmos across the path and the Cornflowers, etc on this side
All the kittens are obsessed with my shoes!
Where is that kitten, I just saw?
Not much of a wobble left striding confidently off to ...
Peek-a-boo!
Short-sleeve - still nameless
Quizzy Lizzy She has such a curious mind, always watching something or investigating
Pick him up - he cries! Put him down and he immediately tries to climb back up!
Short-sleeve again
Taking it nice and easy the rest of the day, so I’ll
be well enough for work tomorrow.
Here’s a question: If South Africans are so huffy
about distancing themselves from colonial England – why are there Fireworks for
Guy Fawkes here tonight? But then again, I’ve seen locals call it gay fox
celebrations – groan!
