I struggled to fall asleep - the humidity was just unbearable. I put my little aircon on for a short while, which helped. I've noticed, when I sit outside in the evenings, that humidity rises as temperatures drop. Every evening. That is really unpleasant when you're trying to fall asleep. It's the reason I keep the ceiling fan going all night, and sleep without a top. Still, that's not enough most evenings.
Still, I woke nice and early and got up before six. Made myself filter coffee. Nice!
Unfortunately, my head is stuck at work.
Trying to bring my head back home, I'm looking up prices for reel push mowers. On mine, the blades are now totally blunt - it's worked overtime! When I used it to cut down the overlong grass, that kind of blunted the blades fast. And I'm thinking that now, at the end of the mowing season, I might get some good deal. Or maybe I should wait until mowing season is over? Well, right now, with me having to beg for December salary (in February), just so I can pay my rent ... I can't buy anything that isn't absolutely essential, anyway. Sigh ...
Well, I've vacuum packed and tidied up the fridge and kitchen a bit. I think I'd like to cook myself a decent meal for a change. Well, half decent, given the ingredients at my disposal. I'm thinking of another pasta combo ...
And since I shouldn't be getting fruit juice, until my January salary is safely in my account ... I'm thinking of making some smoothies today.
I'm not sure what possessed me, but I defrosted the freezer. I took out a couple of things to add to my planned meal. I've cut up almost all the cherry tomatoes as well ... only ... the bowl I have won't be big enough. Sigh ... so I'll make the meal in the electric frying pan. That's big enough. And I'll bake bread tomorrow ...
What does the bread have to do with the frying pan? Space! I don't have space on the counter for both - at least, not since I have the percolator on there as well.
I tried taking a nap, but first Mini and then Janey came for cuddle sessions. When they left, I decided to top up my smoothie ... only to find three flies drowning in the blender! No telling how many had already drowned in it! They crawl through the small breathing hole at the top! Unbelievable!
So, to make sure I don't loose anything else, I washed all the dishes, after having put the food in the bowl - which just, just fit in! Bowl is in the fridge.
Half past four the weather is turning, clouds have moved in, it's cooling down and there's a lovely breeze coming from outside!
Around six I go to sit outside with my mippies. I had given Janey her pill a while ago - caught her off guard, ha ha! Ziva just sat looking at her bowl - that's how she tells me she wants her special food. Now she's sitting next to me, mipping for cuddle cave ...
