Escape to normal ... well, not quite, but good enough.
With my knee giving me so much trouble, I couldn't do anything last night. So, this morning, I had to make my lunch - or end up eating junk food from the local Spar. As I drove out, my neighbour walked up and we had a chat. He promised to come around tonight to have a look at my garage door - which I can't lock anymore.
Then I drove to work ... suddenly I heard breaking glass. Right nearby. I looked at the mirror to see what I just drove over ... only ... I didn't drive over anything, my mirror had fallen off! Just the glass ... great, eh?
During the course of the morning, my knee recovered. I was still hobbling around in the morning, but by noon I could walk normally again.
Left work a bit late, got home ... and got busy. I took down the dry laundry and hung up the last load. Vacuum packed the meat I had bought last week, then emptied the bookshelf in mippies' room and laid it face down on the floor, so that the bottom can dry. I dried the floor under it as well.
I meant to also set a loaf of bread to bake ... maybe so it'll be done when I get up tomorrow morning ... but ... guess what? Load shedding is back! From 02:00 - 04:30 tomorrow morning. Sigh ...
Well, I'll bake the bread tomorrow night. I still have one bread roll at work, and I packed my last chocolate. I had my last cookies today. Sigh ...
Janey still worries me. Today, she was missing again. I eventually found her under the car! The garage floor is still damp ... why is she sitting on damp floor? And she wouldn't come out! The first time I looked and wanted to close the garage door, Mini dashed into the garage, making it impossible for me to shut it up for the night ... clever girl, though I didn't think so at the time. She knew, of course, that Janey was in the garage.
I gave her time to come out. Sat outside for family time. Called everyone inside. Dished out treats. No Janey! I went to the garage and tried to coax her out. Nothing. I shouted. Nothing. In desperation, I started the car! She stayed in place, under the car! I couldn't believe it! I ended up getting a broom and swept her out! Seriously!
She huddled in a corner. I picked her up, cuddled her for a while, then placed her on the food counter. She went through the bowls and ate. Well, nibbled here and there ... but she ate. Now she's curled up in the closet in mippies room. I don't know whether I should worry? Or whether I can put this down to the chaos in the house? I know she's a very sensitive girl, and she doesn't like change. She purrs readily, when I cuddle her ... I don't know ...
Well, I'm going to watch one episode, then go to sleep.
