Lock-down Day 695

Late morning. I only got up at half seven, when Mewthos got impatient ...

I'm having trouble getting started ... it rained overnight, not much, but it's still overcast & very humid.

I've put on pop music and got going. Half ten and the kitchen is clean, laundry hanging - in the kitchen. Well, where else? Outside is overcast, I've hung the shorts out ... taking a chance there. I've put the small shelf back up, wiped the mold off it, given the lounge floor a rough wash ...

Mippies are scared of a dancing, singing mommy! Ha Ha! Well, I have to get my spirits up somehow, right? How else do I keep scrubbing floors, skirting, wash the walls, etc. without getting depressed?

Twenty to twelve, skirting scrubbed, treated and sprayed. Floor and grouting scrubbed. Next I'll put the room divider back. But: because it's bottom is now bent, I can no longer rely on it. It could just topple over, if I fill it with heavy stuff. So ... planning ... problem is, that it's the only shelf that will allow my records to stand upright.

Right. I've turned it back the right way up and put a brick underneath, in the center. Don't ask me how I did that, on my own. All I know is I broke a nail. Ha Ha!

I've moved books around, separating where possible ... but a lot of the most precious books are just one big lump. Can't separate the pages anymore. I've googled, and it does seem possible to restore them ... although I have a feeling, I'll have to wet them again? For now, I'm just spreading them out as much as I can, without completely blocking the narrow passage in the lounge. This is so heartbreaking! Seeing such precious books ... in such a state ...

Janey was here for cuddles just now, so I took the opportunity to give her her pill. She does NOT like that! I caught her by surprise yesterday, as well, she didn't get to play catch yesterday, either!

As I was googling whether it is POSSIBLE to restore soaked books, I also read that they should dry standing upright. Makes sense - wish I had had that sense two weeks ago! Well, so now, how do I get all the books to stand upright? Without touching each other, of course ... ah! All those empty Whiskas & Royal Canin boxes! Perfect! Two soft cover books fit in there with plenty of room to dry! And standing them all upright, also means they take up much less space!

Half past five and I finished standing all the books I had spread in the lounge and the bedroom, upright! I'm knackered ...

I just want to clean up (aka bath), maybe, just maybe I'll have the energy to make myself something to eat ... then just go to bed ...
