Lock-down Day 316

A little late this morning, Mewthos was impatient for me to get up and give him his breakfast treat! Mini is still a little odd, I'm not sure what to make of it. But she's happy enough - loves her brushies, paws me when I'm at the PC ... I guess it's just one of the growing up changes they go through.

My seeds arrived! Awesome! Happy dance! Now I can go ape in the garden OR on the veranda - regardless of the weather, I'll have gardening I can do!

I went shopping. Only 4 items on my list, plus 2 in my head. Another 11 items found their way into my shopping cart! Mostly items which are on my list marked 'only, if on special'. Like Butter.

Oh, and my sushi guy is back! So I treated myself! Deeeelicious!

Oh, great! Load shedding starting again today! Good thing I updated the schedule - just in time, eh? Well, I'll be powerless from six to half nine tonight AND tomorrow night. Sunday from two to half five. Not too bad.

Now, of course, I can't wait to go home! Even though the first task will be to mow the lawn - if it's dry.

It's dry. And they are busy clearing outside  ... I had better mow the lawn, rain forecast for tomorrow.

I took photos on Wednesday, it looks completely different today:

Big difference, eh?

I ran myself a bath  - just hot water, I can add cold water when I'm ready.  Then finished mowing the lawn.  Now I'm weeding the succulent bed.

At least with my new phone, I can write this blog, even publish it during load shedding.  That's something at least.

Sigh,  nope ... update failed  ... probably a tower without power.

No sign of Smeagol today  ... my worst fear is that he was cowered in the ruin when they bulldozed it ... not very likely, but not completely impossible. I don't know where he sleeps or where his safe place is. Mewthos cowers between my bed and the wall - that's where I found him when I got home. He only came out after the workers had left.

I'm glad I decided to run my bath before the power went out, I can't imagine having to wait after gardening! It was still warm, though not hot. I didn't add any cold water. Next time I'll know to fill it more. At least we had notice ... it's really crap when it goes off without warning!
When I got home I contacted all my neighbours to let them know the schedule as well.

I just hope it comes on at 8, not 8:30! Schedule says half nine, but they usually do 2 hours not 2 1/2 that extra half hour is just too much!

Not sure what I'll do tomorrow, though.

Power came back on at eight! Now I'm going to watch an episode of Columbo, then bed ...
