I just realised why my mippies were so difficult last night: they had spent most of the day terrified of that CAT (caterpillar bulldozer) working so close to home!
My evenings are actually very hectic. I get home, and get busy with lots of little things to do every day. And all done with mippies under foot! Mini is right with me every step of the way, the others also pop back inside mipping at me while I'm busy.
When I feed Smeagol, I try to give him some lovies, after he's eaten. Last night he stayed around, strolling up and down in front of my back patio glass-door ... as if he also wants to come live inside!
By the time I get to sit down at my PC, it's usually going on eight ... and as soon as my bum touches the seat, mippies come mip at me! They don't like me sitting at the PC - I should be playing with them, not some gadget! Most of the time, when I try to finish my blog for publishing, I'm distracted with Ziva or Mewthos sitting next to me, Mini pawing my shoulder from behind, Janey staring at me from atop the dresser ... it's chaos!
That is why, with the added phone-whatsapp gadgetry last night - I didn't realise just why my mippies were being extra difficult. I just put it down to feeling neglected as I was focused on the phone. But there was a lot of fighting, far more than usual! Mini wouldn't even share my dinner! I put it down in front of her and she shrank away! Not from me, though - I could cuddle and pet her, as usual. THAT is what really stayed working at the back of my mind.
They'll have another day of horrors today, methinks - the CAT is still standing out back ... But the work closest to the house is done. I'm hoping they'll pull out those last weeds right behind the fence - if I have to reach through to pull them again, my arms will be black, blue and purple again! Not a problem, though.
I'm also wondering, what they plan to do about the ruin behind my grill. I have a feeling, that's where Smeagol hides from the rain. Well, I'll see tonight ...
Poor mippies! They are going to be traumatised again, today! I just called the manager, because it just occurred to me that they could possibly take care of those two dead trees in my yard, while they've got that big CAT with operator there, already! He said he'd have a look and let me know. He also said they plan to cut down the whole area outside my garden, so I should be able to see where I'm going, again - not drive past the drive-way, as I have done on occasion.
Oh. My. Crap! Guess what? City of Tshwane has now 'updated' their load shedding schedule ... which basically means, that I have to re-check against the one I created recently. Times have changed ... I wanna scream!
Okay, I've had a look. Looks like they only changed the time-slots - so, instead of 01:00 - 03:30, it's now 00:00 - 02:30. Shifted the slots by one hour, to make it even numbers, instead of odd numbers. I've updated my spreadsheet and did a couple of spot-checks ... looks like I've got it right.
Nice, another cloudburst! It's coming down by the bucket-load! Not for very long - just half an hour or so. Hopefully some of that reached my garden at home, too! Although ... lawn and weeds are already striving beyond my control ... not sure whether I should wish for rain or to find the lawn dry enough to mow tonight. At the same time, with all the trauma mippies are enduring - I really shouldn't add more! They run away from the mower - it's an unpleasant sound to them. Ai, ai! Rock ... hard place ... hello, I'm home!
Yay! My leaf cutter has arrived! Now I wish I had time to play tonight, ha ha! That was the missing link in my production process!
Just got a message that my Takealot delivery will arrive tomorrow ... before five. As much as I'd love to get my craft toys before the weekend, I'd rather not take the chance of them arriving past half three. Plus, I want to go to Ninapark Spar tomorrow morning, so ... re-scheduled for Monday. I've got plenty to keep me busy this weekend, anyway.
Came home to find more cleared space around my place, I can actually see my neighbour two places away! I feel a little exposed now ...
No Smeagol tonight. But it was drizzling the whole time. I went into the garden and took a lot of photos, with my camera this time. I wonder what I'll find tomorrow afternoon, when I get home? It's good, but it's also strange.
Only 2mm rainfall here, though. Mippies stayed by my heels, didn't like the wets everywhere. We didn't stay out late. No Smeagol ... I hope he's okay! I filled his bowl, hope to see him tomorrow, again. Mippies are more relaxed today - not as bad as last night. I guess because the work today was not as close - it was behind the garage. The two dead trees now stick out like a sore thumb, though!
Anyway, I've eaten - Mini still won't touch her share! Not one piece! Other than that, she's her usual self, though. Eats, plays, teases the others ... weird. I've bathed, chatted ... ha ha, didn't touch the phone till everyone was inside! Now it's half ten ... sigh ... I'm going to regret this tomorrow!
