I woke up reasonably early and dozed until about seven, then let the mippies out. I had my coffee, played my game and just had a slow start to my day.
My landlady has the house filled with her family, kids and grandkids everywhere. They tried playing with my mippies - I showed them the rat-race game - but mippies wouldn't play. I guess the kids are a little too small for mippies to feel comfortable.
Tynx is still on her twittering, chirping, meowling, going on and on and on. Fortunately she took a long Siesta today. Cutest thing happened: when I went outside I found her with Mewthos on my chair, side by side! They were watching the kids riding their bicycles along the road. But it was just too sweet seeing the two of them side by side like that!
I hung up the washing and took it down when it was dry. Mewthos helped! As did Tynx!
I unpacked a few more boxes, the toughest one was the spices, not just because it's a box packed with lots of little things, each of which is wrapped in newspaper, but also because Lady Jane came to help. And then I had to first clean the spice bottles before packing them away - and I'm a little low on space for packing stuff away! That's a change of approach for me.
I extended that to my online shopping basket, and removed items I don't need right at this moment - well, except for those, which are currently on special.
Having been through a really tough time, where I was really in dire straits - even though it's now quite a long time ago - I still have this thing about stocking up in good times, to be prepared for bad times. And there's a possibility of bad times ahead. Not dire straits, at least, but tough times. And when I'm shopping now, I have to overcome the urge to 'stock up' - because it's much smarter, to 'save up'.
Anyway, the cat food is on it's way, and on Thursday, I should get the other order I placed today. I ordered a TV tray, some toiletries and I treated myself to two DVDs. Oh, and I ordered a wired keyboard, since the wireless one I bought a few months ago, hasn't worked properly, since the PC was broken. And the mouse? Dead. I'm seriously pissed off about that - the last set I bought, lasted for years! And now? A few months? Well, that's the way of the world now.
I'm still holding back on the groceries, I'm quite enjoying the shopping itself - and I don't need anything urgently.
Well, mippies are all quiet now, I've spent some time cuddling Tynx and she's curled up behind me, quietly. Mewthos has gone to his guard post, but the ladies are curled up by my feet.
