Wheee Wednesday

Don't ask. Last night was not pleasant. Power went off just after six - I had at least managed to cook dinner by then. I spent the rest of the evening watching Hogfather on my smartphone, until the internet conked out. Then I turned over and went to sleep. All mippies had joined me on the bed, enjoying cuddles throughout ...

I woke up with a toothache. Very early. Very achy. I first tried clover - which really works. And eliminates the need to eat something in the middle of the night, so I can take strong meds. It helped a lot. Enough to let me go back to sleep.

Still woke up very early - though I didn't get out of bed early. I was delighted to see e-mail from my aunt! I'm hoping to find time during the day to reply ...

Aaaand load shedding has escalated again! Plus, extended till Sunday!

Lovely, eh? A wage agreement has been reached, and workers are starting to come back to work, BUT: Eskom can't really afford to meet that agreement (so, we can expect more price hikes), and it will take time to catch up with the backlog of maintenance, plus, of course, repairs.

Well, my electricity usage should be at least within budget, as a result. And that's about it, for the good news ...

Looking at Saturday's schedule, I think it would be wise to do the laundry Friday evening, so I can hang it up on Saturday morning. Plus, unless I get the geyser going very early, I'll have to wait till noon, before I can clean the kitchen.

On the whole, though, it's not too bad. Yesterday's 4 hours was the worst for us - which makes us quite lucky! No 6 hours in one go, only one 4 hour stretch. And scheduled outages at least allow planning!

Anyway, I've taken some 'time out' today, to reply to my aunt. A LONG reply, ha ha! Once I get started, I can't seem to stop myself ...

Well, I guess I better publish ... I'm not likely to even want to bother to go online after eight, especially as I'll have to turn the PC off before I go to sleep, as there's another load shedding during the night.
