I woke up around six, when the power came on again - but didn't get out of bed immediately. I had woken around ten, when the power came on, and again around four, when the power went off.
I live alone. Any unusual noise wakes me up - fortunately. It's important that it does - for my safety. The unusual noise with the power is that the flower fountain goes on and off. At the moment, that is quite noisy - I need to see if I can fix that. Again.
I did take a muscle relaxant last night. A strong one. My lower back was quite painful - I think it may be the cause of the headache. This morning, the headache is gone - but I feel a little groggy. Coffee cleared that up a treat!
At work a bit late. And first thing I see in the news is another change to the load shedding schedule. Yes, I expected it would continue, they did announce that ... but now we're sliding up and down the Stages like a drunken sailor!
00:00 - 05:00 Stage 2 = 04:00 - 06:30
05:00 - 16:00 Stage 4 = 12:00 - 14:30
16:00 - 22:00 Stage 6 = none
00:00 - 05:00 Stage 2 = none
05:00 - 16:00 Stage 4 = 10:00 - 12:30
16:00 - 22:00 Stage 5 = 18:00 - 22:30 (4 1/2 hours!)
22:00 - 00:00 Stage 4 = none
I really hope they drop Tuesday night to Stage 4! That would end our turn at 20:30. Still no bath for me, though. Unless I keep the geyser on all day Tuesday.
Ah, now I found a post with Eskom's schedule for the whole week:
00:00 - 05:00 Stage 2 = none
05:00 - 00:00 Stage 4 = 10:00 - 12:30 & 18:00 - 20:30
00:00 - 05:00 Stage 2 = 02:00 - 04:30
05:00 - 00:00 Stage 4 = 10:00 - 12:30 & 18:00 - 20:30
00:00 - 05:00 Stage 2 = 02:00 - 04:30
05:00 - 00:00 Stage 3 = 10:00 - 12:30 & 18:00 - 20:30
Well, they're simplifying and downgrading ...
I've just bought electricity for the month - and, although I don't know the exact reading now, I used what I remembered last ... in June I went over budget. Using more than I buy. Despite all the outages and load shedding ... it must be the geyser. Because it's outside, and not in the roof.
Maybe I should invest in one of those insulation blankets for the geyser? On the whole, though, I'm much happier with the geyser outside! When it started leaking, I could see it immediately. No middle-of-the-night-waterfall like I had in 2015 and again in 2016. Plus, the landlord can get at the geyser without having to enter my home - so there was no need for me to stay at home.
Back at home, rushing through my chores ... then Smeagol needs me. As long as he gets attention from me, he's less likely to attack my mippies ...
Well, with power off every single night from 18:00 ... I can't exactly turn the geyser on the whole day, every day! I'm going to have to compromise. Turn it on only every second day, I think. Bath tonight, and then again Wednesday night. That way I'll only need to have it on all day Wednesday, since Friday I'm home early.
Still sucks not being able to bath every night. But it could be worse ... so ... win some, loose some.
