Off day

Internet went off in the evening, and I couldn't publish. I found out this morning, that there were several major power outages. Luckily, our power stayed on.

I had a very bad night, though. I woke up too many times to count - first I was hot, then I was freezing, then I was hot ... continue throughout the night. I woke up after seven - with a headache. A mild one, at least. I should be fine by tomorrow.

Voting stations open at seven tomorrow. I'm wondering whether I should go there before work? On the other hand, they're open until nine in the evening, too ... 

Back to today. I've turned on the geyser, so I can clean the kitchen. I'm trying to decide what I'd like to cook today. I'm leaning towards a pasta and mince meal.

I'm slowly working my way through the chores that need doing. Mostly, of course, I need to bake bread. And before I can do that, I need to wash the bread machine.

First, though, I've taken care of the laundry, and sorted out my bedding. I was going to wash the cover I've just taken off ... only ... I can't. I'm out of fabric softener. I'll have to wait for the delivery.

Mippies caught a hoppy! Brought it into the spare room and are chasing it through the boxes there ... having fun! Well, it beats them demanding my attention! I've already had the whole lot - one by one, again and again - demanding attention.

Sheez, the phone doesn't stop ringing! This time its one of the suppliers, where I placed an order on Sunday. One item is not in stock (I know) and will delay the order till 10th May, is that okay? Well, yes. I knew there would be a 2-3 day delay - just didn't know it would be a 5 day delay. Just means I'll have no fabric softener this weekend ... I'll just add water to the bottle, it'll be a bit diluted, but it'll do for the main laundry on Saturday.

Sigh ... headache is getting worse again. I don't know why.

Crap! And load shedding is back, as well! From five tonight until five Monday morning! First outage from 04:00 - 06:30 tomorrow morning. Lovely!

Bread is finally on the go ... next: dinner. I've cut the celery and some carrots ... just need to start cooking ...

Three little mippies, approve my fresh bedding! Ha Ha Ha! They've been curled up on my bed most of the day. Janey mips for a cuddle when I come near - of course I oblige!

So, where is Ziva? Up on a pole, with Smeagol at the bottom, both howling at each other. Off I trott, get the ladder, close the gate so Smeagol can't follow Ziva, climb the ladder, pick Ziva off the pole and carry her to the ground ... off she dashes, home ... and Smeagol dashing to the gate, finding it closed he just stands there howling. Once Ziva is safely out of reach, I open up for him again.

Dinner is delicious. Especially after I added sour cream into the mix.

Well, all 'musts' are done, though I won't be able to pack lunch tonight. That'll have to wait till tomorrow morning - give it a chance to cool down.

I think I'll stop at the voting station on my way to work. See what it looks like ... if the queues aren't too bad, I'll try to vote. If not, I'll leave work early. 

Mippies came in very early again. I found their latest prey - a grasshopper - hiding in one of my shoes. It's back outside, now.

For myself, I just hope I sleep better tonight than I did last night.
