Shopping Sunday

Slow start to the morning, again. I've let mippies out, made myself coffee, now I'm just pottering around. I made myself breakfast, put on the geyser ... and I'm thinking about what I'd like to do today.

I've been thinking, I'd like to clear my desk in the lounge, put it back in use. It's no longer steady, thanks to the careless handling every move ... that's why it's 'propped up' against another shelf. It should be fine, as a desk.

For now, I'm trying to order my groceries. Problem. Several items are no longer available! First item: mippies' poop bags! I found an alternative on Takealot - also compostable, and quite a lot cheaper. Good. Next: laundry detergent. I'll have to go back to the one I used before, which is a bit more expensive.

Sheez, online shopping is exhausting! Still, much better than in-store shopping! I now have two shopping carts filled ... spending more money than I'd like. And only essentials. I had a look at a replacement router ... trouble is, I just can't be sure which is the right product. I'm completely out of touch with current technology ... and then I found a replacement battery! I checked, it's exactly the same model I have in my router!

Well, I did also find some of my weekly groceries online. Cheaper. I've also found a replacement for my garden broom. The pet store still doesn't have the spot-on in stock. Takealot do, but quite a bit more expensive ... Sigh ... I'm spending far more than I wanted to. Well, I haven't spent it yet ... still thinking. It leaves me very little for my weekly groceries ... and I have to hope there will be no emergency this month.

Okay ... this is funny: When I paid my order, they deducted the credit from the return last year! Again! Oh well ... worst that can happen is that they ask me to pay it back before they deliver.

Well, that's most of my day gone ... it's already past three! You wouldn't think online shopping takes so much longer than in store shopping - but it does. Well, if you add the time to write a shopping list for in store shopping ... and deduct all the time I spent cuddling mippies ... 

Anyway. That's that done. Time to go outside.

Well, today did not go as planned. I meant to 'just quickly' do the shopping, then clean the kitchen so that I'd have time for some project. I didn't expect the shopping to take so long! Tight budgets take a lot of juggling.

My gardening was productive, though! I pulled almost all the tall weeds out - it's looking very light, now! I'm also able to pull a couple of creeper roots out ... but the big ones? I managed to get one out ... it's as thick as my wrist! It broke off, so I didn't get even the top bulb of that root ... it must be at least the size of a tennis ball!

With today's plan so derailed, I forgot to take out something for dinner tonight ... sigh ... banana and cheese for dinner tonight, I'm afraid.
