I slept quite well, though I woke up around twenty past three. Had to get up - and a few minutes later the power went off! Huh? Not load shedding! Well, it's too early to worry ... I tried going back to sleep, but no luck. Half past four, the power comes back on! Double Huh? We're supposed to be load shedding from four to six? Weird. Very weird!
I asked on the Electricity Group - no response. My guess would be, that our ward may be exempt from load shedding today, due to the voting.
Mippies wanted lots and lots of cuddles. I ended up leaving rather late. On a whim, I decided to drive past the voting station - at least see where it is. If it's not busy, I might just stop. Only ... I couldn't find it! No sign to the Primary School, no voting signs up, nothing ... I must have driven right past, but I saw nothing.
Then I hit traffic. Too much traffic for my bladder! Well, I made it just in time ...
I checked the location of the voting station on google maps, I think I remember that dirt road I - apparently - should have turned into. I don't remember the sign, though. I'll have to try again this afternoon - I'm still planning to leave early.
I've also managed to order the spot-on for my mippies. Cheaper than Takealot, but more expensive than ePetStore. On that product, there is apparently no discount for subscriptions (standing orders), so I ordered once-off.
Another puzzle solved: I've been puzzled by some messages I've been receiving lately, about my 'Luno account'. Now, I have no clue what a Luno account is supposed to be ... I've just googled it. Turns out Luno is a bitcoin trading platform. I don't have an account with them. Apparently, these messages are a common scam to get your access data and steal your bitcoins.
I left work just before four. Drove all hopeful down the same road ... this time there were posters and people milling around - easy to find! Being such a remote area, the voting station wasn't very busy. It took less time to vote than it took me to drive there! I had a quick chat with the representatives at the booth, then went home.
I was home by half five! Time for some weeding, ha ha! I took the hosepipe and watered my vegetable patch and seeing the weeds around there inspired me to see if I could carry on in that area. But the ground is too hard. Too many weeds just break off, leaving the roots behind. So I moved to the driveway. The dozen paving stones just outside the garage. Cleared up a bit around there.
Back inside, posting the load shedding schedule for tomorrow - 10:00 - 12:30 & 18:00 - 20:30 ... the latter will be a nuisance tomorrow evening.
I thought I'd see whether there is any information regarding the election results, but - of course - they only start counting votes, after voting is closed. That'll be at nine tonight. Yeah ... not going to stay up ... I'll check tomorrow.
