Tuesday

Sigh, I could not get to sleep! I was just about to drift away, when there was a flash of lightning outside, the power went out and then it thundered. I guess the lightning hit something … but from there, I just could not go back to sleep. I was still awake at midnight.

This morning the power had not yet been restored! I’m worried about all that meat in my freezer! Fortunately, with the gas stove, I could still have coffee, as usual! I don’t have a kettle, but I boiled some water in a small pot.

Since it was still overcast with rain here and there, I decided to take the Highway, rather than the old road – I don’t want to get stuck behind accidents.

At work … what can I say? I’m busy. I do take a break now and again, and I can even check on my online game, and I’m now writing this during lunch.

After lunch, I’m tackling the store inventory – who needs to gym when you can lift steel rods at work? The boss came to see how things are going and he’s very happy with not only what I’m doing, but how I’m doing it. So, on the work front, I’m finding my feet.

My biggest concern is still the shopping story. I really, really have no interest in going to any stores – not Friday afternoon, and especially not on weekends! I want my home time with my mippies!

Okay, that’s one problem solved! I just purchased socks online! Remember, I went to Cape Union Mart and got one pair to sample? And when I decided I like them and want more they were such racists? Well, there goes your income – I shopped directly from the manufacturer! And since I ordered above a certain amount, delivery is free!

Last week my feet were so painful from the safety boots, and yesterday I put on those socks I had liked – what a difference! Since they are quite thick, I’m no longer walking barefoot in hard shoes, so I put the same socks on again, today. I don’t care if they’ll stink to high heaven after a week, but my feet feel much better! I had gone through my socks, but most of them were just worn through – which is why I meant to replace them … and had started with a sample.

So from now on, I’ll first look online for everything I need – let’s see how much I can have delivered! Right, cat food? No problem – ePetStore! They just don’t have the sand my mippies like, but they’ll be going outside one of these days!

At home, I’m happy to find the power on! I scooped the litter box with Mewthos strolling across my back, prepared my lunch for tomorrow, made dinner, ate, and showered, all with mippies playing their favourite game: What mommy doing? We helpz mommy! Each one got their special attention time – though I suspect Ziva will insist on more, as soon as I’m in bed, as she always does. Since I don’t make her cuddle cave lately, she now makes her own: she burrows under the duvet until I scratch her ears!

Lady Jane just had a lengthy go at the purple fluffy thing, then mipped to be held in my arms for a cuddle session. Mewthos, however, sirens from some remote location wanting to be found and picked up. But not held – don’t ask, it’s Mewthos. If you want logic, try Ziva or Lady Jane!

After last night’s lack of sleep, I’m struggling to keep my eyes open and it isn’t even eight, yet. So a very early night tonight …
